Customizr:

As we reach completion to this list, I've conserved this little gem for last. Undoubtedly among the most outstanding complimentary styles I've even seen, Customizr was constructed utilizing an extremely distinct set of style concepts. The execution is perfect, and this has actually made this style remarkably popular-- to this day there have actually been simply shy of a million downloads. Without doubt, Customizr's primary selling point is (as the name mentions) personalization. An instinctive live home builder lets you sneak peek any modifications on a live variation of your site, so there are not a surprises when you click Save.

The personalization choices come thick and quick: the style features an option of limitless colors; beautiful, striking typography; 6 designs (consisting of a double sidebar, permitting you to include loads of custom-made widgets); and 2 image slider designs. Among the slider choices permit you to overlay engaging call to actions over your images, making it a terrific method for eCommerce shops to improve conversion rates. If that wasn't enough, the homepage lets you include spectacular, chunky thumbnails connecting to your material, consisting of beautiful animation results, and comes bundled with out-the-box social networks icons. The style can be securely incorporated with 2 of the most popular WordPress plugins, too: WooCommerce for eCommerce performance, and bbPress for online forum performance. A really remarkable style!

Hi Tony,

I've been looking for a fast theme that would handle Amazon images downloaded into woocommerce better than I have in my current Storefront theme. Because the images are remotely referenced from Amazon you cannot get them to comply/constrain to woocommerce settings. I have had to use a 3rd party plugin to get these images presentable in a shop setting (using Woo Multi Layout). I have also had to use a plugin to manage my custom blog views as the default layout is pretty bad.

Then I looked at the Customizr theme as was excited that is solved my blog and post views just fine but still fell short in the woocommerce area. My images are back to being all different sizes and don't look very good when they don't line up nicely in rows on a page. Is doesn't look like the Pro version makes any strides in this area either. So, yes Customizr does support woocommerce but it is not very good at handling Amazon images.

I will look at the others mentioned and see how woocommerce products look in the shop and report back. I would also love to hear if anyone else has found a fast theme that handles blogroll settings and woocommerce shop layouts that make your data symmetrical on a page.

Thanks for the info!

HI Tony,

You can use some CSS code to make your product boxes look more uniform. (I am not not well versed in CSS.) I used this code in the custom CSS area and the layout look got better.

Still testing other themes.

ul.products li.product .woocommerce-LoopProduct-link {
display: block;
min-height: 400px;
}

Thanks!

Just loaded up EightStore Lite. The product pages contain images that are different sizes from Amazon again. I applied the CSS code and it actually got worse!

The product, category, subcategory and product listings are left-indented as if a menu should be present. I stated a left-side menu and it only shows at the top level of the shop. The rest of the pages show "smushed" products off to the right of the page. I don't see a way to change that without perhaps buying the pro version, which I don't plan to do. Maybe there are other CSS or PHP fixes but I can't readily find them. Would like to hear is anyone has success with this theme!

Thanks!

Tony this is great! Thanks for putting it together. I have a question for you though. Can I have products from different affiliate programs listed? If so, how's check out work if people are buying more than one product; say an Amazon.com product that they like, and maybe a clickbank, or shareasale product...do they need to make multiple purchases with the different sites?
Reply
TonyHamilton Premium
Yes Marcus,

They would absolutely need to make multiple purchases with the different sites my Friend.

It would be a great idea to inform them of this fact so that they won't have a surprise waiting for them when they are ready to purchase. Some will be aware and some still won't, even after being informed :)

Thank You Marcus for the great question my Friend, you are welcome as well.

oops Tim,

You are correct, it is called EightStore Lite and I don't know why Store Isle isn't there.

Themes do come and go, that is a fact because I used to use a theme called WP Fanzone and that is no longer there either.

Thank you for the great update Tim,

Hi Tony, This overview of the top themes for an e-commerce site are amazing. Thank you for sharing this, which must have taken days if not weeks to research.
I am busy setting up an e-commerce site so this has come at a very opportune moment.
My question - what payment gateway is cheapest and most efficient - i have used PayPal on another website i set up for our non-profit charity donations and that works well.

i will look at these 4 options and check out the integration support they have for payment gateways.

thank you for sharing your vast experience and amazing knowledge with us mere mortals :-)
kind regards Dave

What is your perspective on the WooCommerce storefront. Is it free and what is your opinion?
Reply
TonyHamilton Premium
Ed,

I don't personally use it but I have heard both good and bad.

Just like any other affiliate program Ed, you get what you put in and to each their own.

Does this help answer your question my Friend?

I use Storefront and not being a person who plays around a lot I cannot answer a lot of questions. But I can say it works ok for me. There are plugins for FB, Invoices etc and it can be a fully blown shopfront controlling stock etc.

I use mine in a drop shipping website so I don't need a lot of those facilitles. I can also add the uploading process is not seamless (when referring to products etc) and can be fiddly getting products displayed how you want.

But it is free.

The western (Christian) churches had their New Year on November 30th (or the closest Sunday there to), so if anyone complains you can just say you're being liturgical!

(Thanks for indulging my moment of trivia.)
