Spam Comments From SEO Optomatic
Hello everyone,
Here just to bring up a concern I have or maybe just curiosity. Now that I have pissed someone off at SEO Optimatic with my truthful opinion about there so called state of the art software promising the world to everyone. I am getting bombarded with spam on my page with hundreds of comments per day now. That does not bother me I think it is just funny and silly at the same, cause all I have to do is click one button at the top or bottom to clear all spam. I am just curious with all of these comments they are hitting me with how in the hell are they getting them past Google anylitics which counts all of your visitors. The eason I ask this cause I am not getting the same amount of visitors compared to the amount of spam comments. If anyone has any idea how they do this can you please enlighten me.

Fascinating, you read about this sort of thing happening and I agree - childish. It's not doing them any favours :-)
Sounds like spambots are out in full force. I have friend that has a .php solution for spam. He is a member here. If you want an interesting solution yet fun solution, let me know and I will connect you. It's becoming quite a crazy world out there. :)
Welcome to the internet, I use the akismet plugin, so if your not using that then you should, be but even then I get spam all the time
Its done by robots (software)
You see, they work using the numbers game, if they spam a million sites every day they will get some responses to the thing they are trying to sell or rip you off with

I am also in the same shoes like you , though not reached 100 yet they are so many than comments.
Most of the times just spams not real comments, which really made me mad.

They have automated software for spamming you. Sorry you're going through this. I have one blog where I get maybe 50-60 per day. I just spam 'em all and then empty spam. It's a bit of a pain, but they should give up eventually.
Say your sorry and promise never to do it again! They Couldn't Handle the Truth (but we can) Just kidding. I'm of the mindset that I would deactivate them and go with another plug-in
It just gives me a chance to copy all of there emails and start spamming them with junk. LOL
Hi Tommy. On a forum I had, the company SEO Profiler used to leave tons of unrelated spam, including links to porn sites. I wonder if SEO Optimatic is the same company. I had to email them and threaten them with a lawsuit to get them to stop. Perhaps CAPTCHA software would help? Open comment and forum websites are detected and used by the bots they create.
I wish I could help on this one. I get spam in my email but haven't had to deal with the comment spam yet. Of course, my traffic is still at the low levels. I hope you find your answers!
Sorry, I can't help either. I have a spam blocker on my site. It has picked up 14 spams since Aug. and that hasn't increased in the last 2 wks. Sorry, I'm no help!
I once told a phone company not to call me again, then I got phonecalls on the hour every hour for the next day and night - and conveniently no one could trace the guy, he got clean away with it...

Sounds like some very childish behavior, I guess some people don't like hearing the truth. Makes you wonder why Google has not picked up on this is right.
