Google and SSL
Just today I read a blog post on WA about SSL and website security.
Google new algorythms call for the use of SSL and want to have more security on
the websites to secure user data. The SSL enables encryption for data safety
and can even secure the website owner data for such things as passwords and
login information.
At first I was stumped about the whole thing but realized that my website was
not secure and I had to find a way to fix that. I researched it and found a
good post on WA about enabling SSL on the wordpress websites. Most people
charge a fee for SSL Certificate but with WA we have it included on the sites.
Look at this post and learn about enabling SSL on your site:

The girls language is rare but you can make out the main words and follow the
video to get the job done.
Another issue I found was that, after I got my site secure, there is a version
of SSL called TLSv1 that is an older version of TLS and is to be outdated by
June 30, 2018. My website has this old version and I imagine many sites still
have it so maybe wordpress will issue an update before the June 30, 2018
deadline. We will see.
There might be some questions about all this so leave them please in the
comments section down below. Good luck on your site and with the SSL Compliance
for Google.
Cheers,
tom

SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is not new. It has been around and used for many many years to protect the data sent and received through the web by securing the connection between a computer and the server.
SSL sits on top of (so to speak) your HTTPS site and encrypts the site through the Secure Sockets Layer functionality.
I hope this helps.
I know that stuff but I never saw anything here at WA about needing it on our sites or even how to add it. I want people to know about the availability of SSL on our wordpress sites.

Yes, it is mentioned in lesson 3 but because it requires premium membership it is not a specific activity. So, SSL is NOT available unless you have premium membership.
It was an activity in month 2 of the Super Wealthy Affiliate training challenge because all of the participants have premium membership.
That's good to know I wrote this post because I didn't see it mentioned anywhere and it is now important with Google so this is to help people with being up-to-date for Google.
