Making the Most of Peak Season at Work

As I head into peak season at my day job (I move boxes all day!) it means little time for my Wealthy Affiliate blogs.

However, it isn't a bad thing, as all that is needed is a lesson in time management, and it's what I'm talking about today.

First off, peak season begins November 12th at my work and the first two weeks are steady, much like any other place, until this week, where things will get beyond hectic.

I've been working forty to fifty hour work weeks, but this will increase to 55-60-hour weeks from this Monday until December 16th.

Now comes the question: How do I plan on getting in Wealthy Affiliate and all my other blogs?

Simple.

Here's my schedule for success, and you can use my schedule as a blueprint for your own.

The Schedule

Starting tonight, I'm looking to do the following:

2am: Wake Up, Eat Breakfast

2:30am: Blog until 3:30.

3:45 to 4:45am: Workout.

5:00am to 5:30am: Drive to work

5:30am to 6:00am: Post updates to social media, work for a half-hour on WA.

6:00 to 11:30am: Work morning shift.

11:30am to 12:00pm: Eat, post a little more.

12:00pm to 5:30pm: Work afternoon shift.

6:00pm: Arrive home, prepare and eat dinner.

7:00pm: Write and edit my creative writing work.

8:00pm: Go to sleep, and get up at 2:00am.

Eighteen Hours

Arnold once said that sixteen hours isn't enough and if we really want in life what we say we want, we need eighteen hours, giving us more than enough time to get what we need to get done while working a hectic job during this hectic period of the year.

Never settle for less, either.

What I see way too often from people is the fact they tend to give up on their true ambitions because they have a good job that pays the bills, but the long hours are going to force them to compromise.

Don't let this happen to you.

Sure, if we want to make ends meet we need a day job early on in any endeavor, but it doesn't mean we need to give up on our ambitions.

In fact, despite the hours, we now have something called disposable income at our hands.

Look, we have more means to make an end and much more. We can invest in ourselves. We can invest in our future success. We can invest in one day leaving the dreaded day job and get out of working under someone else's watch and work under our own.

Day Jobs are Our Means

But it takes investment. Time and money, time and money. The more time you invest, the higher the likelihood you're going to create a greater product. The more dollars you invest, the higher quality.

For instance, let's take a look at my creative writing, novels, for instance. I'd much rather pay $240 for a book cover than make one up on Canva that lacks quality. I'd rather pay for targeted advertisements rather than find sites that offer free book promotion, which would help me very little.

Day jobs, and my upcoming long hours at the grind, will help this out tremendously, as I'm looking to get my second book on online shelves come December, buy a few more domain names here at WA, and of course, continue my membership as a Premium Member, which will pay dividends.

So, the day job early on allows me to do this and for that, I'm more than grateful.

Never Be Satisfied

I'll stress that one should never get satisfied, as I implied earlier in this post.

Too many get satisfied and watch their dreams fly to the wayside. Don't be that person who twenty years from now says I could've been this, or that, and had this going for me, but I sold it all in a job that to this day and Monday on weekends.

Who wants a job where they dread Monday on weekends?

Hey, I don't care how much you're paid. If you're dreading the Monday grind, get out of your place of work as soon as you can, and something like Wealthy Affiliate will help you do this.

Never, ever, ever be satisfied if you have to compromise.

Man, my job is stressful, but it pays the bills and allows me to take lavish vacations in my BMW and five-bedroom house.

The stress will get to people such as those in the scenario listed above and just for the record, I don't have a five-bedroom house or a BMW!

What you wanted when you were young is something you should still want to this day, and never let that waver. I don't care if you're making $1,300 weekly.

Which is why I'm getting up at 2am from tonight until December 16th.

Will it be rough?

Yep.

Grueling?

Probably.

Worth it?

I'd make the decision every single time.
