This Was "Freebie" Week!

I have been trying to generate some buzz around My Doggie Doodle and some of the products I'm representing, so this week was Give Away week. I thought that I would try giving some samples away for free to get people interested in what I'm offering.

For one product, I have two friends who have expressed some interest, so I paid for two sample packs, which I am sending to my two friends. I also decided to offer a give-away of 3.3 lb. bags of dog food. To enter they just had to tell me why their dog should win. Now I have many more responses than I have bags of dog food, so I have no idea how I am going to decide who gets the food. I will probably end up putting names into a box and pulling three winners. Didn't think that one all the way through!

I'm hoping that if they get the food and the dog likes it they might be inclined to buy it going forward, since it is a healthy brand. One woman, with dogs and foster dogs wrote that her dogs only get the best, and that she would love to win because it's only the best for her babies. Tough choice. Do I go with the best potential customer or do I go with the one that tugs at my heartstrings the most?

Lesson Learned: Either get over yourself or stop offering to give something away where there are more contestants than prizes!

I did have an interesting event, someone left a comment on My Doggie Doodle who owns a collar and leash company. She asked if we would review her product on our site. She is going to send us a catalog and samples! I thought this was cool, especially if we're going to get samples. It actually looks like a really good product I've not heard about. We'll see!

So that's the news here. It seems that since I can write as many blogs as I want now, I don't have all that much to say. There is a method behind the "1 blog a day" madness. Certainly, Kyle and Carson know what they are doing!Publish
