Add or not add another social network? This is the question I am wrestling with this morning and not sire what is the right answer.

I am in my Wealthy Affiliate training right now covering twitter and how to use with my web site. I have been using twitter for years, actually since it first came out. I am an early adopter, it is kind of a sickness of mine with mot things tech, gadgets, etc..

My Journey with Social Media

For years I have also had a blog domain using my name toddmckeever.com and have been pushing all social networks, twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, Pinterest, andInstagram there. This site was always meant to just be over all things "me". Since starting with WA this time I decided to start another, seperate blog myproductiveleadership and try and seprate all things "me" and keep more personal things on the "todd..." site and move discussions of my specific interest, being a producitve leader through exploring tools (Apps, Books, Coaching - the ABC's) for producitve leadership that work for me and other leaders I network with or have studied their lives over to the new WA site I am creating.

My Journey with Ealthy Affilaite

Little side note, through WA I am actially learning to set things up correctly this time and not having to do as much trial and error and this is providing a much more enjoyable experience this time. Plus, I have the power of the WA commnity to ask things of and get incredible help. That is what I am going after with this blog post here in WA. I have hit many milestones since being part of WA and only wish I would have hooked up with WA when I started with all my different channels of social media.

I didn't and so now what is the best approach?

To add or not add is my question? I think?

What is the best thing to do? Has anyone ever created different platforms for different reasons like I am attempting to do? How would you go about it? Do I start a new twitter account, or all new social media accounts for my new blog site, myproducitveleadership? Is there a way to effectively connect all my social media accounts and not have to start over with a new one?

Without adding more at all, if you can be active in the social media platforms you've belonged already, you'll make the most out of them. Wish you much success in your online endeavors!

I think you should continue with your current site toddmckeever.com. Since it is a well-aged active domain, it would be much easier to grow by adding more categories/pages of niches you want to cover. Just keep it going, it's much harder to start a brand from scratch, besides your own name can be the brand. This is the new trend and if you are an authority on the subject you'll be more personable and easier to follow on social media rather than seeming like a company. This way you're more approachable in a sense and get more click-through and followers. If you start another site and still maintain all the others I'm afraid you'll be spread too thin.

You might be better off trying to get your site transferred over and integrated into Wordpress and hosted here. You might want to also get a premium theme (one-time) cost. SiteSupport should be able to assist you with the feasibility and technical aspects.

Try it this way: If you end up needing a new site, I believe there's a way to redirect your old site pages to the new domain. More research on this would be needed or again ask SiteSupport here for instructions. Perhaps they can help guide you.

One last thing, in the affiliate marketing world one of the most important social networks is actually YouTube. You should definitely think about adding it. I know creating videos (or having them done for you) seems time consuming & difficult, but I feel it is the best for getting traffic back to your site. Even if it means dropping another social media account to free up more time to pursue this. Especially when you embed your videos onto the pages of your site from YouTube this increases your rankings, not to mention the traffic you'll get from YouTube itself. After all, it is the most used search engine after Google. People will subscribe, and as your views increase you can monetize your videos with ads within the YouTube platform and earn income that way as well. Just some thoughts...

Thanks for the great feedback and specific direction suggestions. Great value added.
