How I am celebrating National Women's Day!
So, today is National Women's day, and I know that there are a lot of politically driven things taking place today and I don't care. Today is a day dedicated to celebrating women, their contributions to society, and their hard work and dedication they put in to all things they are doing right along side men. It was a long path to get here, and some would say we have not reached our goal and they are entitled to that thought. Today I am not here to debate the issues surrounding this day, but to celebrate it by saying this...
Today is National Women's day and as a woman I am working hard, both at work, and on WA to prove why it is women have come this far. To prove that we are no less motivated and no less driven to succeed and that we have all the same access to things to make us successful and today and every day that feels pretty good! So I am celebrating this day by working- because I can. Working hard to make more of my future and enjoying this day as a women along side the other hundreds and thousands of people with the same dream and yes....appreciating being a woman in the process!

They just announced on Irish tv that female managers still earn 16% less than men doing the exact same work/job. And a quick search shows the difference can be sometimes over 30% in other jobs, and even female teachers and doctors can get paid less.
I'd prefer a day dedicated to making equality a priority moreso than a day dedicated to any one specific gender, if we are truly equal. And while we are at it, a day dedicated to wiping out gender stereotyping. All the more reason to be self-employed though.
Agreed!! Human equality is a much better goal!! Thanks for sharing the info though I had no idea. But I think we are all here for something greater so go us!!! :)
