Like-Minded People Flock Together
Growing up, I always heard the quote, "Birds of a feather flock together". I can recall hearing that a lot from my grandmother. I thought why does she keep telling me this? What does it mean?
It Was A Warning
So as a teenager, I completely associated this term in the negative sense.
Birds = Negative people
Flocking together = Negative people doing negative things together
Grandma would also say, "Don't hang out with the bad crowd because once you do, you will become like them". I will have to say, grandma was right. Staying away from those birds/ negative people was a good thing as it helped to shield me from many negative experiences.
On Second Thought.....
In my adulthood, I began to look back and think about that quote from a different perspective.
Two questions came to mind.
Who said that the birds had to represent negative people? What if the birds actually represented positive people?
I began to think of it this way:
Birds = Positive Like-Minded people
Flocking together = Community of individuals working together helping one another, answering questions and providing answers to reach a common goal.
Thinking Changed, Like Minded People Came
Have you ever wondered why people come in and out of your life? Once I changed my thinking it seemed as if the people in my life rotated. Negative people left and more like-minded people came in. I began to enjoy being around people that I could bounce ideas off of. People that did not compete with each other instead they assisted one another to get to the next level in their lives.
That's why I was drawn to the WA community. A place where like-minded entrepreneurs meet, motivating each other to keep going toward your dream, while cheering you on as you make strides towards hitting your goals.
I believe I found it and now I can truly say with confidence, Here a WA, "Birds of a feather do flock together".
REMEMBER: KEEP MOVING TOWARD YOUR GOALS, HELPING OTHERS WHILE BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS AND SUCCESS IS NOT FAR AWAY AND WILL BE HERE TO STAY!
Wishing you the best in all of your endeavors,
~T
