My YouTube Video for WA was Flagged and now Age Restricted
Wow, as far as I can tell there are no violations.
Flixpress was used to create the video intro and it states as Flixpress they release copyright and the intro's maybe used on YouTube.
There's no sex or anything else in violation so I have no clue what's up.
Here's the video, if you see something that's in violation of YouTube rules, clue me in!

Yup, me too. Just found it now and immediately looked here if somebody had the same experience. Thanks a lot for sharing this one.
Hey Tina,
YouTube's TOS does not allow commercial links and is especially not found of direct affiliate links. They don't mind you linking back to your own website that sells products or describes your business. Small distinction, I know. But they make the rules.
Having said that, they certainly don't catch every video that has affiliate links. It would be impossible for them to do as millions of videos are being submitted weekly (maybe even daily, worldwide). So they rely partially on YouTube users to flag videos. Sometimes that could be competitors just doing it to knock your videos out. Or it can be others who feel that the message had too much sales pitch.
I think you may have been better off pointing your link to a review page of Wealthy Affiliate. Since you only have 70 views and one like, you could delete the video and then upload it again with the changed link.
Best Regards,
Jim
Thank you TechHound. It does not mention that in any of TOS or Guidelines at YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/t/community_guidelines
I changed to link to reflect my website although it is a forward. What a turd whoever clicked flag as YouTube is full of affiliate links.
Hey Tina,
Here is section D of item 4:
You agree not to use the Service for any of the following commercial uses unless you obtain YouTube's prior written approval:
the sale of access to the Service;
the sale of advertising, sponsorships, or promotions placed on or within the Service or Content; or
the sale of advertising, sponsorships, or promotions on any page of an ad-enabled blog or website containing Content delivered via the Service, unless other material not obtained from YouTube appears on the same page and is of sufficient value to be the basis for such sales.
You can find that here:

You're welcome.
It's part of the business. But when you learn what is allowed and not, that tends to advance you further than those that don't.
Yep. Many simple things can be frustrating when we first do something but I don't think you are the sort of person to give up easily. Just take time out, reinvigorate and join the fray once more.
Thanks for the heads up, I am not yet drawn towards doing videos but I do like to include relevant ones on my websites
Thanks, I've deleted the old one since I couldn't easily trim it. Unfortunately my editor is giving me problems, so I had to update it and well let's just say this video isn't going to look as nice, but it'll work :O)
Hi Jim,
Thanks for your sharing. I just started a YouTube channel and was experimenting with screencast. 2 videos were uploaded. The first one was ok but second one on SiteContent was flagged down. It seems rather random and I am appealing to YouTube. It is okay to remove my video but I wish to know why. If not, I will just constantly face this problem. :(
You mentioned about competitors. Now, that's a scary thought but I am just a channel with a grand total of 2 harmless videos. It would be very discouraging if this is true.
Anyway, I am hoping for a reply from YouTube. If I know which part went wrong, at least I can rectify it.

YouTube just informed me that I violated their community guidelines and took down my video. It is my second video and it's on SiteContent. I am not sure why since my first video on Site Builder passed the guidelines. I logged in an appeal and is waiting for a reply. :(
Any advice for such a situation?
I was just following the bootcamp and trying to set up videos that I can link back to my website.
Jude, funny thing with YouTube you really never know when you will be in "Hot Water" so to speak.
One day the guideline you are following is fine the next day YouTube has changed the guidelines and you are not so fine anymore.
However, when it comes to affiliate marketing of any kind I know that YouTube can be very tasty. I certainly would await their response to your appeal other than that there is really nothing so far you can do.
Let us know what came up through your appeal.
Good Luck :)
Sylvia
Thanks Sylvia. I will wait for their reply but meanwhile, I am switching to Vimeo to post my videos.
