Wisdom and Encouragement from A Turtle
Moving like a turtle. But . . .
I see that the magic is happening. Constant upward movement is happening as Alexa continues little by little to increase my rank and report page visits since being ranked. Lots of movement is expected, considering where I started from.
If the turtle didn't have to lug around it's house too, it would move faster. It must have had some perspective on things - no derailing thoughts. But the analogy can only go so far. At 180+ potential years, the turtle might just be in it for the journey, so pacing is important.
Considering the turtle made me ask, what is the burden? What's my excuse for not being further along?
Expecting to see results too soon, instead of just plugging away at what needs to be done can be emotionally derailing.
Until I recognized this demotivating mindset I slowed. But to compare such to a turtle's movement would have missed an important lesson.
The turtle isn't moving slowly. It's moving as designed: On time, and probably fast, considering it's shell can weigh more than half it's body weight.
Unlike the turtle's protective and useful shell, my weighty state of mind was not benefiting me and I had to shed it to resume writing. If it's not helpful, drop the burdensome mindset.
Thank you, wise old turtle.

... i vote 'yes' for the turtle! ... in fact, they are amazingly strong hardy creatures (tough shell) ... and actually, can move quite quickly surprisingly, too ... :)
For sure.
