What to Focus on While Commenting
I find that sometimes a little refresher helps keep us on track on how to do what we have been doing, the way we first learned. Our comments on websites, for instance may read as though we are patting the back of a coworker for doing a great job.
These well-received comments are encouraging. They make the content creator feel exonerated for work done seemingly invisibly (though still unable to justify to the family dog, the delayed walk)
Confuse the Organics
Unfortunately, these same comments may confuse organic visitors who seek comments to find out about the product, not about the creator's writing skills. Unless we have used the particular product/service, we of course won't have a thing to say about it.
And, we don't want to sound like the waitress at my favorite restaurant. While in an area for a brief training course my adventurous appetite, not my budget, dominated. The waitress always commented on my great choice which she too, just ate. True or not, after a while it no longer sounded believable. I however enjoyed and appreciated the pleasantery.
We may get a bit weary as we continue to pay it forward, But, comments don't have to be a literary masterpiece. Here are some or similar comments seen on websites:
I'm looking into the yellow one (or the first one on the list), etc
My daughter already has one but I'm checking the current versions
That recipe looks easy enough
The detailed instruction is sure to save me a lot of time . . .
I want those benefits too, so it seems to be worth the try/consideration/time, etc
I have family/friends who have been practicing that for years. Me not so much until this really convincing article. . .
And, so on. . . focusing on the topic of the article.
And. . . here's the refresher - copy pasted verbatim from our Site Comments, except I changed it to point form https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/comments/offer/show . I hope we enjoy the reread.
How to Leave Awesome Website Comments!
When offering a comment on a fellow member's website we suggest keeping in mind a few simple things.
Comments that include questions to the author will:
- allow them to reply to you
- allow for further engagement on the page
Feel free to ask questions about the content that you feel others reading the content may also ask.
Your comments should be focused on the content:
- be specific to what the content is about
- a comment is your unique opinion on the content and should contain a minimum of 50 words
- we check all comments for uniqueness, so please be unique and original
- the more thorough you are with your comments, the more thorough others will be with the comments you receive
This is a true pay-it-forward system and you get out of it what you put in.
View the page:
- in order to submit a quality comment you need to read the content that you are commenting on
- within the area to offer comments you will have a number of ways to open the page to view in a new window
- once you read the content, come back to WA and add your comment within the SiteComments area. You will earn 1 credit for every comment you leave.

Yes the purpose of a comment is to continue the engagement initiated from the website visitor addressed to back to the author within the realm of the original content written by the author.
Many times site feedback and site comments are confused while site comments are welcomed in site feedback, site feedback is not an appropriate site comment.
