World Wide Call for help
I would like to take this time to give a shout for a young lady who desperately needs some help and support. My daughter is friends with this young lady who is suffering from mental illness and is anorexic.
From what my daughter has told me. She is not getting any kind of support from her parents. In fact her parents are contributing to this poor girl's stress. She has made numerous attempts on her life because of toxic atmosphere she resides in. I'm hoping there may be some people who may have relatives of this girl to please remove her from that environment and get her the help she needs. The girl's name is Sophie Andrews, age 19, and she lives in the United Kingdom. If anybody can take to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter to spread the word of this young lady and help get her the support and care she needs myself and my daughter would greatly appreciate it. Let's see if we can save this young lady's life.

Tim, so sorry to hear about this young lady's plight
I'm in the UK and there are several ways in which this you lady can revceive help.
Notify her GP.
Call 111
She can visit ANY urgent care centres or Accident and Emergency services
Any community nurse or health practitioner
I guess you are not from the UK
Once she goes to ANY of these places ( or your daughter take her)
She WILL receive the help she needs
And she will be refer to the authorities who will take over her care.
I wish her well
Please let us know how she get on
As it stands my daughter has looked into plane tickets to the UK to visit this young lady which looks like the end of May. We will still need to passports that shouldn't be an issue if we take of that quickly.
Can you possibly give any info for entry requirements into the UK. My daughter and I have already been vaccinated against Covid but will probably need booster shots. Is there any other requirements to enter?
Right now we're looking into going Mid May but we watch and see what comes out way. Something could come up between now and May that would force us to change our plans.
I'm glad you're both coming to visit this young lady.
Unfortunately, I am unsure of travelling requirements to enter as well
Can you please have a look in the UK'S website?
I wish you success on your journey
If she's 19 can she seek an agency for support?
Prayers for help to come her way, Tim.

Hi Im not sure how the mental health system works in the UK. Usually their own family can contribute to their unwellness. In New Zealand clients have access to the Mental health Nurses who visit or a Psychiatrist who checks their mental health status. They will organise respite places for mental health clients to go or we have places they can live independently. It sounds like she has made attempts on her own life and the medical staff or social worker should be arranging support for this lady especially if she has been in hospital. Normally they will have a safety plan in place to monitor her. We have other NGO agencies that have Mental Health contracts, when clients are unwell they are referred to them and the workers support them on a weekly basis. If they are suicidal they are referred to the DHB or govt mental health and are visited by the MH Nurses. First off just ensure that her medication is up to date or may need adjusting. Hence the reason a referral to the Psychiatrist or psychologist to ascertain what is affecting this lady. Is it time for a medication review. I have observed medication adjustments are common dependent upon their diagnosis. What is the level of her anxiety. If too little medication, it wont help her condition and too much she wont interact with others and become too tired. Its always a balancing act. Im glad your there to support her. Dont take this all on yourselves, access another mental health agency with the expertise. Hope this helps. (ex mental health Social worker)
