i want to switch my site over to here so i can move my free site to my already existing domain

You don't need to transfer the registration of your domain name, you just need to change the Domain Name Servers (DNS) to point to Wealthy Affiliate. After the change of DNS has had time to propagate (usually a few hours) you'll be able to move the content on your existing subdomain to your real domain. If you have any difficulties then contact Site Support.

You can transfer the registration of your domain name when it's a bit closer to the time that it needs to be renewed.

This is also correct but I personally think transferring is better, bc with WA you actually get a website email address which isn’t included if you just point DNS server. It’s really personal preference though :).

The email addresses come with the hosting, not the domain name registration.

Ah gotcha I thought you had to have domain here too. Thanks for clarifying and that’s good to know.

All my domain names are now registered with Wealthy Affiliate but I host them elsewhere. So I have to set up the email addresses where the sites are hosted.

so i just transferred my domain here for nothing then..i got my name servers pointed to wealthy affiliate and when i try to move my free site that ive created with wealthy affiliate to my existing domain that i guess WAS hosted with blue host, its telling me its going to erase everything on my existing site! i definitely dont want that so i have no idea what to do now..

I was under the understanding that you didn’t need any existing content from bluehost, and that you wanted to just transfer your siterubix content to it now. Otherwise I would have suggested using Wordpress backup plugin to restore it after transfer.

So did you transfer your site to WA already?

And is it telling you it’ll delete your site rubix content is that what you mean?

Talk to Site Support, they are the best people to advise on technical issues with your websites.

Ive been trying to talk with site support since yesterday. I hope i get my problem solved.
Thanks for the help

if you export what you have on your free ite and mport it to your other site then you lose nothing - there are plugins to merge sites as well.
make a backup of both just in case - or try it with a free test site first!
good luck

Hopefully this helps. From what I can tell you don't need to transfer any content from bluehost just the domain name (since you already have content with siterubix content you want instead).

Thanks so much, you've more han helped me out!
