First Facebook Ads The Good & The Bad

Did my first ad campaign and well, not really sure what to think about it. I didn't make any sales but I did get some clicks not only to my site, but from my site to my affiliate site as well. I've included pics of basically what I spent and will give you break downs of how long they ran for, how many clicks I received, etc...

It is currently 9:15 pm (EST) and I have one last ad still running. I was really hoping for at least one sale here. That is the upsetting part of this whole thing. I don't know if it's because what we are currently going through at the moment, but any of your comments recommendations, constructive criticism is highly appreciated!

-I started the first ad on the 31st and it has 1 ad currently still running now thru today the 3rd.

Currently running with 87 clicks to my site. Unsure as of yet of any clicks to affiliate site

Ran for 2 days with 140 clicks to my site.

Also ran 2 days with 126 clicks to my site

Ran for 2 days with 101 clicks to my site

And Last But Not Least, The Current Totals:

As you can see I had a total of 492 post engagements and 454 visitors to my site because they clicked on the ad. I also received some likes and a few comments here on there. One person actually left a comment on my actual site that was positive.

Reach:
Reach is the number of unique people who saw your content. It affects every other metric you can track: engagement, likes, comments, clicks and negative feedback. ... Page reach is the number of people who saw any of your post content during a given period of time (daily, weekly or monthly).

Post Engagement:
Post engagement includes all actions that people take involving your ads while they're running. Post engagements can include actions such as reacting to, commenting on or sharing the ad, claiming an offer, viewing a photo or video, or clicking on a link.

Link Clicks:
Obviously how many people clicked on the ad and went to my site.

Totals All Around:

From all that, I have an estimate on actual clicks from my site to the affiliate site(s) from my website. To give you a little context, my site usually receives on average of somewhere around 30 visitors a day. (Trying my hardest to get that number up). Clicks going to the affiliate site from either my site and maybe a tad bit of social media (Pinterest) is about 4-5 a day. I would say that 99.9% is directly from my site.

My Google Analytics date is a little confusing, but here are the numbers:

May 31st - 133 users
June 1st - 159 users
June 2nd - 164 users
June 3rd - 92 users (still running)

This total might not ad up exactly to what is in the images above because this Google analytical data was taken right at the moment I typed this out, so it's gonna be a couple more visitors.

That's 548 total visitors from the combination of my ads and natural search engine traffic. Dang, you think I could have gotten one sale with all that! lol

Clicks To All Affiliate Links on Ad Days:

May 31st - 23
June 1st - 46
June 2nd - 36
June 3rd - No total Yet (Not Even A Clue)

That's about it. I don't know what else to give you. I wish I would have made a sale. It's pretty discouraging, but it's also pretty encouraging at the same time with the number of visitors I received and the number of people I sent to my affiliate sites.

Any questions, insights, help, etc... would be great! I would like to get this nailed down.

As I said, I am pretty disappointed I did not get a sale and I really hope it's a result of what is going on right now, but I really don't know.

I am gonna start a Google campaign tonight and see what happens. It is more expensive, but my theory is there is a big difference between the two. A Google ad campaign is gonna be seen by people that are actually doing a hard keyword search for the subject matter of my ads. The Facebook ads are pretty broad and not as specific to the people clicking on them.

P.S. That reminds me of a little more info: On my ads, I did play around with the age range, and set the ads to a slightly higher age since the boots contained on my site are pretty high end. I also adjusted the location and made them mostly western states. I had an ad that was pretty broad (cheap cowboy boots still currently running) and I had an ad for 1 particular boot that was pretty specific. Unfortunately in Facebook ad manager I could not specify that in the section for detailed targeting.

Sounds like you have a good approach, and will learn some things from the process. I've tried a couple of ads but wasn't thrilled at the outcome.

Have you done ads with any other platform, google, etc...?
