Information Overload
Intro
In the world today as is, the information age has been upon us, with us, and racing past us all at the same time. That's a lot of information. It's great to be informed but at the same time, information overload can be crippling. For any of you classic rock fans it reminds me of the Led Zeppelin classic, "Communication Breakdown". Great tune and band, one of my all time favorites. And the same applies to communications in hand with information. Organizing your materials, collecting data, and available resources are a good place to start when starting new projects.
Information, we want information! We want to not be in the dark, anymore and forevermore. Unfortunately that cannot be achieved. Too much information all at once leads to circuit overload and bad for system rebooting, whether it be man/woman or machine. Sorting out the comprehensible material and setting aside the not understood. Eventually getting back to the information that has to be understood by understanding the information that was first submitted. Wheeww.....that sure seems like a lot of information for not gaining anything. But by communicating, we do gain the understanding of how we learn individually and what levels we're at in order to get where we're going.
Intermission
As long as the communications are in order, the absorption of information can be ingested at a tolerable level. Even if, the information is too heavy. Say you're trying to teach someone general math and calculus at the same time. Well, that's pretty extreme and just an example, but stated to say that communications are just as important as information. Sometimes it's good to step away for a while to reset and regain composure. New ventures tend to demand this but by the time the merging of the information along with the communications, the system is up and running.
Outro
There are ways to avoid information overload. Certain steps and or making lists to be more at ease with projects involving much information are good ways to avoid the short-circuiting. For starters, lists are great. Writing itinerary's down certainly helps because remembering everything for most people would be quite tasking. Steps utilizing the tools at hand are important to remember as well. You may even need to write THAT down on your list of organization depending on how in depth the project is. Tools like spell checks and margins, with the involvement of the technology put to use really help. Even spreadsheets, all of these we had to do by hand years back are made easier with our devises. It does take on another learning in order to communicate with our p.c., smart phone, tablet, but are well worth it for many reasons. With effort comes success and everyone will see their Magnum Opus.

It can be so easy to get and felled overwhelmed, for sure Thomas, taking and taking steps to keep that information in flow can be one of the best things we can do.
Some say the only information of significance is the information we can turn into positive actions.
Spread sheets are at the top of my list.
