First day! First post! First steps! Looking ahead!
After my first cup of coffee this morning, I had no clue the WA site existed. I've been out of work for over four months after holding a very promissing position with a technology company for almost eight years. With a very extensive spread of experience and knowledge in computers, programming, business management, data communications, and writing - I would think it should be easy to line up another job. However, the reality of life for a man of 61, is even though everyone says there is no age discrimination, there is.
But, as my wife tells me, "It's okay. You know stuff!" She's right. I know a lot of stuff and I have a pretty positive attitude. I have always known that something will come along, the light bulbs will light up, the clouds will part, and the sunbeams will shine down on me once again. I encountered that moment after comeing across an article on "click working". I checked it out and was disappointed to see it was a poor option for additional income. The author, however, mentioned the success found on this site - WealthyAffiliate. I checked it out, signed up for the basic account, and I liked what I saw.
This is really nothing new for me since I'm already doing some affiliate marketing with Amazon (as an author), with my YouTube videos (Timothy Trimble Writes), and with my personal web site (TimothyTrimble.com). But, what really peaked my interest, is the wealth of tools and support available here. And with the wealth of my experience in technologies and marketing, this is the most promissing platform I have come across in a very long time.
So, here I am on my first day with WA. This is my first post. I'm taking my first steps into something new. But the most important thing I'm doing, is I'm looking forward. Ready to take control, and grab onto an opportunity to help me support my household and reach my goal as a self-supported author.

Hi Timothy. I know exactly what you're saying. I left the banking industry due to severe stress . I was only 58 years old
I had no hope of finding a job as I was continually told I was over qualified. Strange that as I had a number of qualifications in different areas, from Banking, marketing to horticulture. Much of it hands on. Being a lover of the great outdoors I decided to start my own garden maintenance business.
I personally believe that no one wanted to take me on because of my age. Yet they say there's no discrimination.
Eventually I found WA, and I love it. Jim
