You go to some registrar (like Namecheap) and find a free name for domain. You register it and pay and it is yours. They are hosting platforms as well, but you can move it to WA if you wish. There is procedure explained.
Go to the website of your the one who has referred you and go by that banner to namecheap, namecheap has also an affiliate program, you can sponsor this way
