Just wanted to give everyone a quick update since I havent Blogged in a while, and let people know that I haven't quit Wealthy Affiliates and I am still floating around.
I have been a Wealthy Affiliate member now since November of 2012 and although I still am not rich, i have learned some things that I think will make me more productive in my online business. One of the biggest lessons was Keyword stuffing, where I missed out on a product that went viral because just a few days before I had been Google spanked and knocked back to page 100 somewhere. Before I had been ranking at #5 on a Google search. A few days after I was knocked back the product went viral and was featured on TV. The sites that featured this product grew enormous and I was never able to get back to page number #1, even after spending about a month or so working on it.
You also have to be a bit careful who you affiliate with when you promote products. I found a program that was offering me on all sales, which I though was great. But their communications skills were horrendous and I spent 2 weeks at a time before I could get any questions I had answered. They also lured me in with a $50.00 gift certificate to use on anything on their web page. When I finally got it 2 1/2 months later I ordered my neat littlle radio plus got the commision for the sale..NICE!! That is, until I didnt get my order. After about 2 MORE weeks I finally got a reply telling me that they didnt sell that product anymore. Ok, quick refund and I'm done. NOPE! Turns out they had charged my PayPal account anyway and now I am having trouble getting my money back. Nevermind the 32 dollar charge for insufficient funds...AARGGHHHHh
People, if you are reading this still then it is obvious that youwant to learn and make money online. I say keep plugging away at it, listen to the Guru's in the chat and learn from others mistakes. Have I let this detour me at all or given up on Wealthy Affiliates, no way !
The bottom line is Wealthy Affiliates i not like all thos other scams that you find on the internet promising you thousands of dollars a day if you use their methods. It is a learning experience and if you follow the methods laid out here you can start to make an income. I still don't plan on getting Rich. My goal is to make a decent income and be able to support my family.
