The annoying bit of affiliate marketing experience

This is not a show stopper, but an annoying bit of being an affiliate marketer.

Do you have experience like this:

- Receive email notification about a sale is made

- after a month, no commission was received, contact the product owner

- Replied: the customer mentioned other person as his referrer during the product registration, so I'm paying him the full (commission) amount. Thanks for your understanding.

I asked for further explanation

" If you have a page on your website that the general public can search out, as opposed to an educator who is referring based on one of the following (Seminar/Meeting, Word-of-mouth, Newsletter, etc.) then that will always trump the impersonal web-page excerpt – as long as they list that referrer in the Registration."

This happened to me 3 times. And to be honest, nothing I can do about it.

Do you have similar experience?

[BTW, the cover image is offered by WA, I did not upload it]

No offense from the image! I sometimes have to use that in certain interactions! That is really a raw deal that you got there in those instances!

Never have. It’s mighty awful. I would look somewhere else. Just not fair.

3

No, never - you should check their terms and conditions carefully, and consider a product supplier who doesn't treat their affiliates this way

2

I'm now on the hunt for alternatives to replace this product. Feeling stupid being treated like this.

3

It’s not you. The merchant is the problem. Sorry about that.

2

I wouldn't say I was feeling stupid, more like angry would be a better description! More like "Fool me once--shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me!🙄

If you feel like sharing the details, perhaps the community here can help you find alternatives?
