Does anyone know how to create a poll on wordpress or what are good plugins etc?
After your question I decided to add a poll to my site too.. I used a different one called "YOP Poll." take a look if you want to see what this one is like.. I love it! www.yourfertilitycenter.com - it's in my widgets.. Could I take a look at yours too? I might prefer yours over mine =P
Oh ok, I will have mine up soon it will be in a post and for some reason I could not put it into a widget on my sidebar. I looked at yours though and its more or less the same thing :)
No sorry, maybe have a look at some of the 5 star votes first on that page.
Here is a recent site survey which shows demos of plugins in action

Thanks. What an easy process. I thought it would be hard to do. Makes a nice touch to my site. Tell me what you think... silverandgrayhair.com. I am Following you.
Like that question, I asked people to answer Top or Flop on a comment, but a poll would be fantastic, hope on a answer :)

I have had Google Webmasters Tools for about 2-3 weeks now and when I go to check my index status in the Webmasters application it says Total Indexed = 0. This could not be accu
Hey Elliot! Is your sitemap all setup? Kyle just put out a video on that process: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/setting-up-submitting-a-sitemap-to-google-webmaster-tools I had errors until I did this.
Do a google search with your URL. http://mysite.whateveritis.
That will show you the indexed posts/pages
John
Hi Elliot,
I would suggest to follow the video instructions on the attached link and check whether you did something wrong. There is a way through the video to test whether your webmaster tool is setup correctly. Follow the link: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/setting-up-verifying-google-webmaster-tools

Any time I type in the name of my site into Google Search Im on the 1st page and second from top! However many of my pages have been ommitted from Google like my main website na
No but I deleted all my Cookies and search history before I searched for my keywords just to try and unbias Googles results!
OK thanks I didnt think incognito mode stopped tracking your IP , thanks for the info John
I just did a bit of looking online and it appears that incognito mode doesnt hide your IP address when searching! Just thought id add it hear for people who read through the comments! I guess the searches will still be skewed by Google !
Yes it is a shame that some people give advice on here so definitively sometimes when it is just outright wrong. It kind of sets newbies up for a fall. Your best bet is to use the Google 'Ad Preview Tool' that is provided inside of Google AdWords, to see where your site is in the SERPs. This omits the search from being counted as an impression. Searching for your own site in Google is not really a good idea as it skews all your 'Search Query' analytics etc inside of Google Webmaster Tools. It also makes your search look like a 'pre-bounce' to Google as you have viewed your own site in the SERPS but then not clicked on it. This increases your impression count and reduces your 'conversion %', not good for your rankings. You could always click on your own site but then you are still skewing your own analytics, and then if you leave straight away you create an actual bounce. Again you could click on another page and 'hang' for a while, but you are STILL skewing your analytics.
I notice that someone on here has mentioned using Jaaxy to see where your pages/posts are in the SERPs. I don't recommend this either as it still shows up in Google Webmaster Tools as an 'impression' on your site, and if you don't click on it it reduces your conversion ratio as I mentioned above. Again in short this will skew your stats.
Best just not to do it, or use the preview tool I have noted above.
Hope this helps.

it's agreeable to disagree.
If you search in regular mode, Google usually is going to show your post on page 1. If searching in "incognito mode", and your post is not ranked, your post will not show.
That should make it clear that searching in incognito mode is the preferred and correct way.
To be 100% sure you will get the real search result, go to Google Analatycs and "exclude" your IP address. Here is a short video by Jay, magistudio how to do that.
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/how-to-exclude-your-ip-address-from-google-analytics
John
Ahh that video by Jay is also outdated and not the correct way to do that anymore, as I have also pointed out many times. You just need to do this now:
https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
IP addresses in most countries are now dynamic and so Jays solution will not work for most. It is also pokey and takes longer to watch his tutorial video that it does to apply the correction solution I have linked to above, which takes 30 seconds or less and ALWAYS works.
Alas I digress, this post is a bit of a double whammy as it is wrong on both accounts. Your post makes assumptions but does not actually correctly prescribe anything. I think your understanding of how 'incognito mode' works is skewed.
However I am prepared to agree to disagree ;)
But just for anyone who is reading this for up to date factual information. John is wrong ;)
Furthermore none of what has been discussed here will actually 'block' your IP from being noted by Google. The only way to do that is to use a browser like Tor or a proxy. Anything else is just telling Google to 'filter' your IP address in some way.
Alas again I digress, what Elliot wants to do is see an accurate display of where is pages and posts show up in the SERPs without skewing is analytical data. The only true way to do this is to use the Google 'Ad Preview' Diagnostic Tool I have outlined above. It actually has very little to do with IP addresses. All this talk about IPs is just a digression of the topic at hand.
Why does this always need to get so complicated.
I have offered a simple solution that works.
Time to drop the bone ;)
You can rebut all you like, I will not add anything more to this discussion, I have offered the correct answer and solution and anyone reading this can take it or leave it.
Sincerely ;)
Most times when I do a search for my own content, I can't be bothered going into a private search. So what I'll do, is to not enter the entire post title. Usually the keyword will be 2 or more words within the title. But I'm thinking when the average person does a search, it's only going to be the keyword they're searching for. I would "assume" that if I entered the WHOLE title, it's more likely to appear higher on the page. Anyway, when searching in this manner, it's VERY RARE that my search will end on page 1! Obviously I never click on it when it's found either. Is this type of search being noted by Google?
There have also been times when in frustration of NOT finding my post within a search, that I've entered the entire title. Even then, it's been found way up past pg 7 or 8...or doesn't appear at all. What does THAT tell you?
For your first question. Yes. Google tracks all user behavior on its sites, as any good webmaster should. For your second question. It tells me that Google does not think your content is relevant to the keywords you are searching ;)
Elliot, I saw a post last week on a similar thread. Basically Google uses cookies and ip address to skew your search results. I use jazzy site rank to get accurate results of my keywords as they relate to my website. Maybe you can try that?
Using Jaaxy will still show as an impression in Google Webmaster Tools and therefore will also skew your analytics. Best to use the Google "Ad Preview Tool' inside of Google AdWords.
Have you submitted a sitemap to Google for indexing? This should solve the problem of certain pages not being indexed yet.
