For a while now I have been adding FAQs to all my blog pages. However today I tried another trick I asked if these Faq's were likely to rank on google . Below is the prompt in chatgpt4

are these too long to be seen and ranked by google

As you can see it wasn't a long or even a well thought about prompt. However it gave me a surprising very detailed answer . The answer not only told me what to do to make them Seo friendly.

Then it detailed all twenty of them as below

❌ Current Version:

✅ Optimized for Snippets:
How to Measure the Success of a Solo Ad:

I can't copy the result here as WA thinks it is duplicate content . I asked it to rewrite every faq and you can see the result here

To top it all it asked me another question

Did I want it to write the schema for me, obviously I said yes. So it did and then told me what to do with it and then gave me a URL to check it

Final Notes on SEO Optimization

🚀 How these FAQs are now optimized for Featured Snippets & Google’s "People Also Ask" section:
Short, direct answers first (Google favors quick responses)
Bullet points & numbered lists for better readability
Tables for comparison-style answers (Google loves structured data)
Q&A schema (if possible) for better ranking in search results

Would you like me to add schema markup for better SEO results?

🔍 How to Check If Schema is Working? (Important Step!)

After adding the schema, verify that Google detects it properly using:

1️⃣ Google’s Rich Results TestGo Here

  • Enter your URL or paste your HTML code, then click Test URL.
  • If the schema is valid, you’ll see "FAQ Schema detected" ✅.

2️⃣ Google Search Console

  • Go to Google Search Console
  • Navigate to Enhancements > FAQs to see if Google recognizes your new structured data.

If everything looks good, your page is now eligible for Featured Snippets & Google’s "People Also Ask" section! 🚀

Thought I liked this, Catherine.

This has become part of my new religion. Right now it's like the joke about the guy crumbling paper and throwing it on the ground.

Passerby: Why are you doing this?
Person: Keeps the elephants away
Passerby: There isn't an elephant within 500 miles of here!
Person: See? It's working!

It makes so much sense to me. I am doing it for all my new posts and going back and doing it slowly to my published posts and re-indexing them.

Hello Catherine

Thank you for sharing. This is a very interesting post. I have recently started add FAQs to my blog posts.

I'm still learning how to optimize them and this is very helpful. I'm still learning about schema markup so I'll have to do some research on that. Until I googled it I didn't even know what it was or why it was important.

I looked at your website from the link in your post and your FAQ is amazing and so much better than mine. I need to make mine better if I can and I really like your website by the way.

It's amazing and your content is outstanding. I have a long way to go with mine but people do seem to like my content when I get visitors on my website which is a good thing.

One final note I noticed a possible error on your FAQ. At the bottom of the FAQ of the post you linked to the answer to the last question comes up twice. Did you intend to make it that way?

I just thought I would let you know in case you weren't aware. Thank you again for sharing and for all this very helpful information. I hope you have a great day. All the best to your success.

Regards

Timothy

You're welcome Catherine

Hi Catherine,

All I can say is... wow!!! This is going to help a lot of people!

If you have RankMath, there is an FAQ for rankmath block that you can cut/paste existing FAQs into and it then gives you the schema.

It will take me a bit of time to do this, but like I was looking for something useful to do? (not really), but this is one of those things that I think merits the extra effort.

Michael

I was thinking of you when I found the info. I think Yoast pro has the same. I am certainly going to get Chaty redo all my faqs

Catherine, that’s a really smart way to refine FAQs for better rankings!

Short, structured answers make total sense for Google snippets.

Definitely worth testing out!

Best,

Boris

I think it is smart especially as it came about by accident
