The Peanut Nut is Born! (Why My Next Niche is Personal)

Hey WA family,

I wanted to drop in and share a quick update on a new project I’ve officially kicked off.
Over the years, I’ve worked on a few different projects in different spaces, but this time around, I’m building something rooted entirely in personal passion, tradition, and a topic I’ve known inside and out since childhood.

So move over coffee, baseballs, tow trucks, drones, and gummy bears!
My new site is called The Peanut Nut.
And honestly... who doesn't love peanuts?

Grounded in Real Experience

I grew up surrounded by peanut farms and cows. The nuts stuck with me. Some of my absolute favorite memories as a kid were sitting down with my grandparents to roast raw nuts straight from the local fields. I’ve tried them in every single style and variation you can imagine: boiled, slow-roasted, seasoned, fried, you name it.
In a world where so many websites feel generic or copy-pasted, I’m excited to build something where I actually have deep, first hand experience. That hands-on connection to the subject matter is what makes the work enjoyable, and more importantly, it's what builds real trust with readers.

The Strategy: Value & Education First

Before I even think about monetization, display ads, or affiliate links, my main priority is simple: educate and share.
I plan to focus heavily on delivering genuinely useful, straightforward content first. I want to build a solid foundation of real value by teaching people the nuances of home roasting, regional styles (like authentic Southern boiled peanuts or deep fried peanuts with edible shells), gear tips, and nut-butter techniques.
When you focus on helping people and sharing genuine knowledge, the trust follows naturally. And once you have trust and an engaged audience, finding ways to monetize becomes the easy part.

What’s Next for The Peanut Nut?

There are so many directions to take this niche once the foundation is laid:

• Deep-dive guides & recipes: From raw roasting setups to custom seasonings.
  
• Equipment & gear reviews: High-powered blenders, home roasters, and kitchen tools.
  
• Specialty products: Highlighting small-batch brands, specialty nuts, and artisan setups.
  

Whether it takes a few months or a few years, I’m in this for the long haul. Wealth or bust, I’m making a real go of it and having fun with the process.

Before I hear the question I know I will get. So many sites, how will you keep up?

I am retired and looking for ways to stay busy! The number 1 killer of old people is retirement and keeping busy allows you to stay active and gives you purpose.

No, I do not need the money, truth be told, everything I make from this point forward pays for my site and the excess goes into the grand children's trust fund.

My gummy site has provided me with the mailbox money every quarter. Even better news, today is September 29 which means tomorrow is payday!
