My Affiliate Marketing Journey: From Towing to Gummies to Wealthy Affiliate

My Story in a Nutshell

I began my journey here in October of 2023, looking for something to do with my time as retirement drew closer. For 33 years, I worked in the towing industry. That’s 33 long, hard years filled with late nights, tough calls, and more than a few close calls. At first, I thought about writing a blog to highlight that journey, but I lost interest.

Then a trip to Las Vegas changed everything.

I was tired and in pain, just trying to enjoy time with friends. They wanted to visit a dispensary, which I wasn’t exactly excited about. But as the saying goes, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. I went along.

That’s when I met the blue-haired girl.

She didn’t look like someone I’d trust for advice, as she had a nose ring, blue hair, and was working behind the counter. But we started talking. She told me about CBD and its benefits. Maybe it was the drinks, maybe it was her confidence, but I left with gummies and oil.

The first few days? Nothing. But on day four, after walking Fremont Street, I noticed my hip and knees weren’t screaming. Day five, I walked the Strip with less pain than I’d felt in years. What I once thought was taboo suddenly made sense.

That discovery led me to marketing gummies. At first, I failed. But I pushed harder. I made enough noise that competitors noticed. I partnered with another creator, and together we grew even louder. Soon, a distributor took notice. That was my golden goose.

I no longer run that site, and my partner doesn’t either, due to a contract. Today, I do product testing while he handles content for the distributor. It’s a different role, but it came from hard work, not luck.

Before Wealthy Affiliate, I got burned by gurus promising overnight money. Their BS they fed me nearly made me walk away from affiliate marketing altogether. But one post caught my attention and led me here. Although it took time to upgrade, it turned out to be one of my best decisions.

Here at Wealthy Affiliate, I learned how to write. Here, I captured my voice. Coming from the towing industry, I knew how to deal with hostile people and grieving families, but I had no clue how to craft words. It was slow, but I managed to figure it out. Now, my challenge is shutting up, and my wife can attest to this. I have opinions, and I’m not shy about sharing them.

Now that I’ve had success with gummies, I’m retired and free to explore new paths. I haven’t found another golden goose yet, but I’m sharing what I’ve learned along the way and taking some well-earned jabs at the gurus who nearly pushed me out.

So, you will be seeing more of me now that I have taken the time to refocus.
