AI Is Powerful, But Are We Losing Human Connection?

AI has become part of everyday life, but one trend genuinely concerns me. As more people form emotional connections with chatbots, I can't help wondering what this means for real human relationships.
I've been thinking about something lately, and honestly, it bothers me, and bothers me deeply the more I think about it.
People are using AI for just about everything now. Homework. Business. Coding. Recipes. Planning vacations. Those are all great uses.
But then there's the other side.
People are creating AI girlfriends, AI boyfriends, and emotional companions that never disagree, never leave, and are available every hour of the day.
I'm not judging anyone. Loneliness is a real thing.

Me? I have a dog, at the very least it is breathing!

What really worries me is what happens five or ten years from now if we slowly start replacing real human interaction with artificial relationships.
One recent international study I just read today found that at least one-third of AI chatbot users showed behaviors linked to emotional attachment, and those attachments were strongly associated with dependence.
That should make all of us stop and think for a minute, I know I was dumbfounded by that stat.
AI is one of the greatest tools I've ever used. I use it every single day.
But I never want to reach a point where it's easier to talk to a machine than to another person.
Technology should help us connect with the real world... not become a substitute for it.
Maybe I'm overthinking it.
Or maybe this is one of those conversations we should be having now, before we realize we've drifted farther apart than we ever intended. What are your thoughts? Let me know below.
