How to make MONEY w/ a lemonade stand
Make sure you watch my video on it as well, MAKE MONEY w/ LEMONADE
This weekend we went to a local pond/beach. What a beautiful day out. This particluar beach is fenced off and has lifegaurds from the town. It’s relatively quite, very clean and has a very nice family atmosphere.
Close to the beach, putside of the fenced area, a boy was just setting up a table, maybe 11 or 12 years old. He had a couple of signs, table, chair and of course his lemonade. It always warms my heart to see a kid trying to be a young entrepreneur. This may sound crazy but I always want the kid to succeed, and U usually try to figure out how I could help, even if it’s just a few words of encouragement.
The boy asked if we were interested in buying some drinks but we had no cash. I really wasn’t thirsty but hey, he’s a kid and needs a sale!
I asked how he was doing today with his lemonade stand so far. He has only been there a few minutes from what I could tell.
He paused, wasn’t sure what to say, and then quietly he said “I’m trying.” I know it took every ounce of energy for this little boy to be positive and muster up those 2 words.
Enthusiatically, I said “That’s what I like to hear!”, while pointing to him. Who knows what went through his head at that point butI planted a good seed anyway.
About an hour later we were leaving, I started wondering how the little boy did. I decided to have a chat with him on the way out, maybe even try to did up some change from my car. But most of all, I was going to water the seed and give him some insight on how to improve his lemonade stand, his sales pitch and above all, his winning ATTITUDE. For example; he could have more signs, stand and greet everyone with a smile, tell them a story as to WHY he was offering this “thrist quenching beverage of the gods”. How about offering a few pictures and sending it to people through Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
Here’s one, ofter FREE drinks to the women, and charge for kids or dads that are together with them. Maybe a special for families, or even a contest for guessing the special sample flavor. There are countless ways of sparking interest!
Unfortunately, he was nowhere to be found. Gone. WHAT?
I’m not sure if he was told to leave or he just had to go. Hey, maybe he sold out of lemonade, but I don’t think so.
I know the beach got pretty busy, so I was hoping for success for this little boy.
My thought was that it was awesome that he was willing to TRY, yet I couldn’t stop thinking he needed to STAY.
This was part of his development, that he would carry into becoming a strong successful adult. He deserves credit and kudos for starting the process, but he really needed to FINISH what he started.
We can all learn from this. How many times did you give up before you really put forth 100%?
Were you as creative as you could be? Did you try different ways? How about asking for help from someone else?
If you have read this far, I’m sure you get the point. I wish you all the best in your journey of success, if I can help you in any way, let me know.
I look forward to your comments, and questions.
