Hello everybody!

I posted this on a new group I've created on Facebook to filter out the spam and trolls on most of the other groups over there, but thought I'd take the gist of it and post it here, too!

What got you guys into affiliate marketing in the first place?

As for myself, I'm a married bloke in his mid-30's with three kids, very average with an average job living in rural Oxfordshire, and stumbled across affiliate marketing stuff earlier this year.

I've spent the last couple of years learning how trading & investing works, but there's only so much trading you can do in the long term without a huge pool of capital to draw from. Without this, it pretty much turns into long term investing.

One thing I found as I learned this trading stuff, is that I enjoy sharing everything I learn. Most people I know simply are not interested, or assume it's too complicated or they can't afford to do it, it's too risky, etc.

But one person, a cousin of mine who lives on the east coast of the UK, took to it like a duck to water. He has actually surpassed me in most areas of this and is using the skills and mentality he has learned to profit from his trading on a short to mid term basis.

It hit me that if I've helped one single person from this, I'm going to continue shouting about it and sharing everything I learn.

So when I stumbled across affiliate marketing and got going through Wealthy Affiliate, where the key thing is "paying it forward," it seemed like a perfect way to help others whilst building a side income in a sustainable way.
