It seems like a slow process but One more step up

Its a steep ladder sometimes. I enjoy it very much. Sometimes I have to take a step down and redo a lesson just to remind myself a step or singular action I might not remember. It frustrates me that I dont always remember BUT I have to remember that I did not grow up in the age of technology. In fact, technology had just become a "thing"when I was a senior college student at Drake University. In order for me to use a computer and not a typewriter....I had to pay to use a computer in the library. Most times so many kids were ahead of me, I just didnt bother. I love books and research. I didnt mind the quiet time. No cell phones, no beeping, buzzing, Facetime or Chat. Just face to face chatting and car phones the size of your trunk in your car!

I have come a long, long way since then. Many times I still dont understand the complexity and sheer use of energy to maintain what seems at times to be 500 sites on the computer. I think thats why I really apppreciated the article that talked about the why, when and how of using social media.

As a child I was taught to move. Go outside, run, play, create. Sitting in front of the TV was allowed for 2 hours on a Saturday. After that, out you went. I rode horses. Bicycled miles everyday, golfed and played at the pool. So for me, sitting in front of a computer for hours really drives me crazy!! It sometimes feels like running in place.

Thankfully when I make progress, I realize that it is worth it. I have always loved to write and journal. Blogging is a great avenue in so many ways. Its not really the technology or learning. I love to learn new things and conquer new tasks. Its really about patience with myself. I have never been good about that.

I am really very glad for this new journey. With every new success (and failure) I feel like I have learned something new about myself. I am learning about self-awareness.
