Hello and My First Website
Hi WA community! I started a week (or so) ago and am really enjoying the training WA has to offer as well as building my website. I recently became premium to access more training and extra features and am excited to see where this journey takes me, feel free to connect with me and drop down any advice you have!
My website is called Writers Nook and it is a website where I want to collate advice and create a community for authors.

A site for authors sounds cool. I hope you have planned something for monetizing the site like Adsense. A lucrative niche is ideally one that has lots of products that can be promoted on the site along with useful content or by doing reviews. Adsense earnings are usually low and most use it as a form of supplementary income.

Makes sense because I think you need to create some content first and then start to monetize. Two websites that come to mind are Kindlepreneur and TCKPublishing, both of whom have monetized their site very well after building up authority in the niche.
There are plenty of products meant to help authors especially those who self publish on Kindle. I've been using a program called Kindle Spy(also called KDSpy) for some time now, for Kindle book research and plan to do a review of the same soon.
Wow, that is really interesting! I have heard of those websites but have yet to do research into them.
I am planning on creating content and really defining my niche/ brand before monetization, I do feel that in the future there will be a challenge on when I think the right time to monetize will be but I will complete more training and research to help me plan a more informed monetization date.
I didn't know about Kindle Spy! It sounds very interesting and I will definitely have a look at it.
I'm glad that you found it interesting, and since you're in the niche you'll get a lot of ideas from those and similar websites. The training will cover how to find low competition keywords to gain a foothold in the niche with your content.
You're on the right track by intending to create enough content first, you could start monetizing when you have traffic coming in.
As I mentioned, there are quite a few tools for authors. The websites in the examples above as well as other similar sites mention them or review them. It helps to be familiar with them while planning content for your site.
