So, how do we not "Die at work"? First, what do we mean by "dying at work"? Do you ever get that feeling of being unappreciated or overworked? Have you ever come to work to get attacked by an overbearing boss, or irritated by a particularly undesirable co-worker? Maybe, a customer experience has really got you wishing you could just clock out and leave the premises. Well, what we want to talk about how to get through the day by using a few simple thought changing techniques to push you through!

1. Know your core responsiblities & achieve 3 goals!

First, make sure you are ready for work before you even get there. If you have been working at your place of employment for even a few weeks, you should pretty much have an idea of what your core daily responsibilities will be! Have a game plan of three items you want to complete throughout your shift! Whether it's a few trainings, cleaning a specific area of your workplace, or completing a specific project. This will help you achieve while you are there, and also allow you to have a purpose! Setting goals gives you a driving force throughout the day and gives you a reason to congratulate yourself on a job well done once the goal is reached!

2. Meditate or reflect your reason for working!

Second, remind yourself of why you are doing what you are doing. Are you saving to buy those car accessories? Perhaps, you are putting funds together to clear out some bills! Or, maybe you are saving up for a fun trip you are planning on having with friends or family. Whatever the case may be, reflect and/or meditate on these reasons daily. This will allow you to appreciate the opportunity of your employment so that you put your best foot forward regardless of the situation. In the end, your goals should be greater than the goals of any hurtful or frustrating circumstances that occur in your workplace!

3. Let what will be, be.

Lastly, be sure to not let things carry over into your outside life. Let work, be work! If your job requires you to focus on it outside of your general business/operating hours, be sure to set specific time aside for these items whether it be right when you get home, or some time late at night before you go to bed. Either way, what happens during those hours of work stay within those hours of work. This is probably the hardest for any person, but once those hours are complete, give yourself 15 to 30 minutes to write down the things you could do better or finish up during your next shift or allotment of work time! In the end, in order to enjoy our opportunities, we need to enjoy ourselves and most importantly our lives!

Additionally, be honest with your workplace. If they can not appreciate your hard work, then maybe you are not working hard enough and it could be because of possible resentment of your responsibilities. Life and work go hand in hand, and once we realize we NEED to ENJOY our life and work, the more we can accept these opportunities as blessings. Now, if you just can't get past the dire feeling of not enjoying your current opportunty, then it is time to truly search for another route! And hey, THAT'S EXCITING! Take the time to really evaluate the opportunities you have, and be sure to leave gracefully. No matter how bad the place of employment, you have your opportunity to change the minds of those around you based on the way you carry yourself!
