About TDomena
Joined January 2018
I'm a Lifestyle Activist and Internet Marketer at KOHA Inc. Lifestyle Improvement and Media Company. I help people with life hacks to improve in relationships, businesses, and person development.

Since I joined WA, I've chosen to breakup my non-niche-specific lifestyle blog into several niche blogs in hopes that the audience will appreciate the brand portfolio better that way. My sites are:

Personal site (author and speaker) - Tiffanydomena.com
My main business site - kohainc.org
Personal Finance: Money Growing Mom - moneygrowingmom.com
Entrepreneurship: How To Entrepreneur - howtoentrepreneur.org [the one I work on daily]
Healthy Living - Nutrition and Fitness: Healthy Living Mom - healthylivingmom.org
Christian Lifestyle and Bible Study - www.kingdomofheavenambassador.com
Emergency Preparedness, Survival Training, and Video Gaming (will be run by my 10-year old) - www.survivalgamer.org

My goal is to create a full time income for myself thru my blogs - replacing my freelance income no later than July 2018 (6 months after joining WA), and I can't wait to give away some great jobs! I imagine that I will keep my hands full (especially before I get help).

I plan to work 40 hours or more per week (in between my kids schedule) since I'm a stay home mom. I work during naps and stay up late because that's how bad I want this.

I do make a full time income from home now thru freelancing but I'm scaling back to take this journey by the reigns. I'd like to convert the majority of my income to affiliate marketing, ad revenue, and digital product sales.

The worse case scenario is that I try, right?

I'd love if you stop by my sites, follow my journey, I'll be posting all my strategies for success in each niche on their niche specific blogs. I'm guessing most people will be interested in how I take my business full time within the next 6 months, and it's likely those strategies will be posted mostly on www.tiffanydomena.com and www.howtoentrepreneur.org.

I look forward to connecting and encouraging one another along the way. To your success,

Tiffany Domena

Update: 03/14/2019

My original post said I wanted to replace my freelance income within 6 months of joining Wealthy Affiliate and that did not happen. It may be possible for some, but it wasn't possible for me. Instead, I put my best effort forward, made a lot of mistakes (many I didn't realize until people in the community pointed them out) and now, it's been one year and I'm still working towards my full-time income.

I know how some of you feel that have been working at this and feel like you're not getting the exact results you want. The reality here is....

It was my fault.

My biggest mistakes so far were:
Dividing my time on too many sites
Dividing my time between too many offered services (creating content, managing SEO for others, doing web design, doing logos here and there, etc.)
and, Not honing in on a narrow enough niche

I realized affiliate marketing is a career field of its own and if I want it to work, I need to focus on it for now. Otherwise, if I continue to balance marketing as a whole, it'll take me longer to get results in affiliate marketing

This career field is much more complex than I originally gave it credit for. I thought my background (mostly in social media marketing online, digital book publishing, and with basic Wordpress tech skills) was sufficient to translate into SEO, and it wasn't.

Starting about 3-4 months into this journey, I decided to stop dividing my time on all of the various sites, and I started focusing on one. If you visit any of those, you'll notice a basic site structure, but only 10 or less posts (aside from the blog I had before joining here).

In my first year, I was publishing just about daily. In total, I was able to publish nearly 300 posts (when you combine all of the sites) and 250 posts on the one I decided to focus on. I wrote nearly 600,000 words and got up to 3000 pageviews/mo. I know that may not be that exciting for some people, but I want to be transparent about the work it has taken me thus far in the Entrepreneurship niche which is a lifestyle niche.

I was able to make nearly $1000 thru affiliate marketing, but my priorities still clashed quite a bit since I was doing local speaking, live networking, tending to my kids, managing my home, and offering marketing services.

My goal is to build an authority site in a broad lifestyle niche (entrepreneurship) and in my first year, I still didn't realize an exact strategy of how to hone in to create that result (even if I plan to branch out later).

Now things are different.

My husband has agreed that instead of balancing the freelance work, the family, and blogging, that I can work on blogging and the family. That's a big pay cut (a full-time income pay cut).

I'm grateful for his support, and I've been working every day from 8AM-530PM blogging since January 2019. I enjoy being available and present for my family and having my profession. I want both. I want to be impactful helping others using my skills in the community as well as in the home.

Prayerfully, I'll achieve my full-time income from affiliate marketing soon. It's truly my favorite way to make money even though I've made enough money from home freelancing to cover my middle-class lifestyle. I truly prefer affiliate marketing over a service-based business (especially since my husband has one and we have young kids). I'm committed to sticking with affiliate marketing, then adding additional income streams from there.

Hi Tiffany, I'm touched by you being sincere about what happened, you owned up to why it happened and you presented your plan to get back on track. You said "it was my fault", you owned it, it's hard to admit that - publicly. "We fall down but we get up....." I'm inspired. I'm following you starting now, many blessings and great success!

Hello Tiffany,
Thank you for the brief interactions we have shared but I want to give you a little more insight on my goals so my questions could be easier to respond to.
My goal is to create a blog based on healthy eating. I plan to teach others how to eat intuitively and not how to painfully diet!
I have a little bit of a dilemma because I currently have not been able to work due to some chronic illness. My work is very limited, right now I am doing delivery through apps like postmates and instacart and such. currently, I am trying to make enough through those delivery apps to buy a domain and hopefully get the limited time offer deal so I can get full access.
This means money is very limited and currently very low. I am currently living with my mom, I was in college and had a rough exit so I had to move back in with my mom.

so initially, my goal was to try and make a couple hundred in the first month because I have all the time in the world right now reinvest it and then work towards making it a full-time income.
but as I do research, I get super discouraged because no one approaches it that way.
So in your opinion, do you think it is possible for me to make enough profit in the first month to then reinvest it and actually work to scale it to a full-time income?
thank you for your time!

Thanks for sharing so much backstory with me! I think SEO wouldn't be the right marketing strategy to expect results like that. Maybe you could generate those types of results doing cold calling, cold email, or social media (if you have a following), but if you're starting with a small social circle, a low budget, and without the skills, then that's not a reasonable expectation for most people.

There could be anomalies, but I like to forecast conservatively. Regardless of business type, you typically wouldn't expect those types of results especially if you're starting without money, without the marketing skills, and without much time.

I'm not sure if you'd learn how to put everything into practice in one month--most people have a longer learning curve than that. Technically speaking, if you write an article today using SEO, you shouldn't expect to start driving traffic from it until February next year. In order to make profit from that article, you'd have to write on a high demand and low supply topic, and the monetization would have to be calculated very well to ensure the numbers make sense.

For example, if the article that you write drives 1000 visitors/mo 6 months from now, it's unlikely that more than 10% would buy, so you'd need a high ticket offer or higher traffic volume. Even then, since you're just starting out without the training, it would be a learning curve. To make a long story short, the first month expectation isn't really reasonable with a low-budget startup because you're relying on free traffic. It would be an anomaly online or offline to start a business with that expectation.

Hi Tiffany,
Thanks for the follow. Reading your story, I was intrigued. Despite the struggles encountered, you press on. I just joined yesterday and have been amazed my the gut-honesty from people like you. I intend to keep my day job until my website (started 8 months ago) successfully launches. My niche was born from my passion - CBD (hemp oil). I started using it over a year ago as a healthier alternative to opiates to treat my arthritic lower back.

Here I am over a year later and I no longer wake up with debilitating inflammation that for years has limited my physical ability to perform even the simplest of tasks. This passion moved me to share the therapeutic wonders of this product with others.

The truth: I want to earn a "full-time" income with this business yet, I get more gratification seeing others benefit from the product.

All that said, I want to be more than a follower of your's, I want to be able to call on you for advise as I respect your years of experience & understanding in Network Marketing.

That's a very cool story. I'm a definite believer in alternative medicine. I feel honored to be thought of so highly by you. Thanks for that. My experience is not in network marketing, but in marketing (with specializations in online marketing and promo product advertising), but if you need help, send a PM, and I'll do my best. I'm not big on relationships that aren't for mutual benefit, so I typically ask for something in return that benefits my business when people ask for favors.
The content I give that you can access is in my training tab (including training on High Ticket sales, Business planning, and my video case studies)--that's probably the best place to start. I look forward to getting to know you better.

I do have a question--I saw your name and profile on the Top 10 affiliates--so here goes--How do I open up the site to write a post or page? I think it should be under the Dashboard site but I am missing quite a few icons on my home page---like appearance, post and some others!!

You can write a page or post from "websites", then "SiteContent". You should probably take a look at the Online Entrepreneur Certification again because that's covered in the training. If you need technical support, then reach out to SiteSupport.

And I want my Domain to be "businessandchristianitytoday.com

Hi Tiffany, until a couple of days ago I did not know you existed. I see your training listed and will be following the pinterest and you tube.
On my person Pinterest site, just a second I am going there now, check to see my followers 12.2k monthly viewers. My gosh if I can incorporate those followers into my WA site, that would be huge.

I do cover several topics that have no relation to my WA niche, but most of them do. Healthy Lifestyles.

Right now I messed up thing with my <ALT image tags> according to bing. I found a tutorial on it. With bing they also told me I had more than one H1 heading. I went to my site, changed all my headings to H2, H3 and paragraph. I am still getting those error messages even after deletion and re-submitting a new site map.

I know I will be able to gain a lot of knowledge from you. Just got to go back to the drawing board.

Thank you Tiffany,
Michael

Hi Tiffany.
Thanks for your great sharing. I am new in affiliate marketing. I am really not sure if I have chosen a good niche. I have chosen toys as my niche. But I realise that the commission rate is quite low in Amazon, only 3%. Should I give up at this stage?
How to decide if it is a profitable niche or not?
I know this is not a competitive niche. But I don't want my efforts go in vain..

There are toy companies who are profitable, so I think you can do it. You would have to find good affiliate partners whose promotions will help you to achieve your goals, but I think it can be done. I'll be doing training here soon on high ticket products. Would that interest you when I finish it?

Your privacy policy should be a page on your website. Most WA hosted sites have the privacy policy as a draft once you build the site. You'd need to go to your Wordpress dashboard, then "pages" and select your privacy policy then edit the verbiage there.

In the future, you can ask questions like this in live chat or on your profile under "questions" and the community can respond. Where you've posted this question is on my profile "wall".

Hopefully, my answer helps you though.

Hi Tiffany,

Nice to meet you! Thanks for the follow.

My journey here has been great, but at the same time I am not where I want or expected to be by this time. Unfortunately, medical issues have intervened and I was actually going to leave WA, but I couldn't make myself do it. I honestly believe that affiliate marketing works, but I am still trying to figure out exactly what I am doing wrong.

I think I made the mistake of going the bootcamp route to promote WA before doing an actual niche website. I haven't written as much as I should have simply because I have been away off and on during the time I have been a member. Right now instead of concentrating on writing I'm sort of starting from scratch to figure out what the problem is (other than not writing consistently). I am redoing all of the articles I have written to try to get better rankings and traffic. There is just so much competition with promoting WA because so many are doing that!

I'm just not a quitter so I have more than my share of determination for my site to get better. I'm determined to make this one work before I leave it and start another. Plus I find it difficult to do so much work without any help! I don't see how one person gets it all done!

I have learned so much here though and I like doing this. So, I'm not going any where, but I really do need to get the income coming in instead of all of it going out.

I wish you much success with meeting your goals as you journey through WA.

www.easily-money.com www.thefinancialstability.com
Can you suggest several good working, easy, simple to change templates?
We are very serious to make this work and love your help with this. We are planning to make 5 websites and are dedicated to make it all work through Wealthy Affiliate.

Hello,
I'd recommend you focus on one site until you really get the process down. With that said, I recommend you take a look at a theme like the Astra theme and a pagebuilder like Elementor. With that combination, you should be able to customize your landing pages how you want since it sounds like what you're trying to do. Be careful not to go overboard because if you add on too many fancy features, then you could slow down your website. Hopefully this helps.

Hello Domena, you have a great profile, I admire you!
in a last training, you know one of those free courses that give valuable content about prospecting to attract new customers, I learned that now consumers, we are all, we like to try before joining any thing, and it is true, to My offer a free course and I can not think about it, and if in WA there is training, but I have a bit of trouble following it, since the audio is in English, that's why I'm still training from other sugares,

Do you think a good idea? What do you think, you are an expert, thank you for your contribution!

Thanks for your compliments Maesita! It sounds like you're interested in creating a lead magnet? Is that what you mean? If so, that's a good idea when you're ready to build your email list. I'm not sure where you are in your journey, but it's important to build your traffic first, then worry about converting them to something.
You can take a small portion of your time to start thinking about a lead magnet, but the majority should probably be on building your traffic first.

Tiffany you have a great profile. The funny thing is, as I am laid off and in school, I'd like to do more freelance work and blogging. Blogging definitely takes up a lot of time. I just started timing my process so that I can right an outline for each future blog and know how long each project will be in an attempt to forgo scope creep.

I try to take a time out and reorganize before I move on to the next training because I became overwhelmed with adding and adding content. It started to look kind of messy to me and that was right around the time in the training when Kyle taught us how to clean up our menu (lol), so I guess I was on point.

I am also committed to sticking with this affiliate marketing. I understand that it is a very competitive industry and I think the key is to really narrow a niche which I am trying to work on.

Good luck to you, I can't wait to see your success! You've already inspired me with one of your recent blog/ trainings.

Hello Pri! This site will be very helpful for you. The main thing you'll need to do is to check out the "Online Entrepreneur Certification" and when it gets to the portion about picking a niche, you'll be picking a local business niche. Other than that, the process will be very similar to normal affiliate marketing. You'll learn how to build sites, the technical skills, and how to get traffic in the certification training. Have you seen my video about how to do rank and rent SEO using the tools here?

That's more of a premium training. You'd have to get good at driving traffic to make the process you're looking into work. The free traffic generation methods are taught in the free training and paid methods follow that. Also, e-commerce is taught in some of the premium training as well.

You're welcome. You'll find training on Google ads, Bing Ads, Facebook ads and other traffic generation techniques in the premium training. You'll also need to learn more on funnels and conversion optimization if that's the direction you want to go into. I'd still recommend you learn how to do the free traffic methods also because it's good to build a multi-dimensional model and have traffic from different angles.

Hello Tiffany, I couldn't help, but to notice your commitment, it is truly inspiring. I got into WA to began creating another stream of income that would help me, and I could involve my family along the way, however being a contractor absorbs so much of my time, along with family health issues, I've yet to delve in, but have decided to give extra effort and creating some time to, prayerfully soon enjoy the total WA experience. And begin, starting today putting in 4-5 hours per week, as my new commitment to WA, if I am to be successful, which truly intend to! At this very moment, I am very, very green with WA, with plans to change that in the upcoming months. Again congrats on you continued success!

Hello Richard! I was wondering about you because I hadn't heard from you. I was hoping that you were doing okay.

I know how the contractor business is. My husband is a contractor as well, and if you have integrity and do good work, there's so much work to do! He works very long hours as well, so I can understand that, and I commend you for attempting something in addition to that.

Don't get discouraged even if you're not able to put in alot of time. Try your best and that's all that counts. I'd say you should definitely choose a low competition niche especially since you won't have alot of time. If you choose a high competition niche like I did, it'll take longer to produce and can get discouraging.

Let me know when you get to that part and we can ping ideas. Glad to hear from you and that you're doing well. Stay in touch! Let me know if you have questions or concerns.

Hi Tiffany, I just came across your profile page and found it very engaged reading. Your honesty about the reasons why uou failed to meet your original goals shines through. Let that be a lesson to those who are also trying to develop a full time income through Affiliate Marketing.

Time is finite for all of us. We decide how to spend that time. It is clear that those who have been successful, focus on one or at the most two Affiliate websites and devote all their energy to increasing traffic to their money sites.

I commend you for working so hard to maintain a fine balance between family, housework and your business. So brave of you to drop your main income generating activities to free up time to work on making Affiliate Marketing a success.

You go girl!

Hi Tiffany,

I really enjoyed reading this because much of it sounds like my journey. This week I finally pulled the plug (metaphorically) on my three other websites so I could focus on my WA affiliate website.

I've been spreading myself too thin, between looking after my children (my wife is away at university), doing freelance work at home, doing the housework and trying to fit in blogging around that.

And yet I still tried to maintain multiple sites. Crazy, huh?

I'm so glad I've joined the SAC to give me focus and it feels amazing to suddenly have that clarity of purpose - everything I do will be on that one site (except for one niche site that I have a special place in my heart for).

Thanks for your inspiring words. It's the success stories of WA members that make this such a wonderful community to be a part of. Everyone is always encouraging everyone else.

I can REALLY relate. Haha. I was spreading myself very thin as well, and it comes to a point where you realize if you have all of that work ethic, it could get you to your goal faster if you exert it all in one location.

My other projects are close to my heart as well, and I'll go back to them one day. I have some pretty audacious goals, and the way I was dividing myself was taking me longer to achieve those.

Until I'm satisfied with the output of the first site, I won't move on. I was taking my mistakes from site to site, and leaving myself lots of messes to clean up. It's best to master it on one site, then take clean practices onto the others.

Best wishes for your success on all of your projects!

Hi Tiffany,

Firstly a big high five and hug for being a trooper.
Secondly, I admire your not giving up no way will I surrender stance.
Lastly I just stumbled on your profile, and I found at first it shattered my expectations, but actually gave me a lot of hope as I realised your update was very educational.

God bless you!!

Thanks! I'm not giving up. I believe strongly that the internet is a very effective tool to reach and help people. I also believe it may not take one day or two to learn how to use it to it's max, but I think Wealthy Affiliate is the right place to be to learn the skills and get the support. Thanks for stopping by and best wishes for your success as well.

Hello, I recently made my first website using my own home address for the Google My Business listing and I want to move on to making my second website. The problem that I'm encountering is that I want to target my town again for a different niche but I've already used my address for a Google My Business listing. How do I go about doing this if Google requires you to have a mailing address to verify? I don't have a client yet for the niche. Appreciate the help!
Reply
TDomena Premium
Welcome Max! Thanks again for joining me here. To answer your question, I didn't think there was a problem with using the same address twice. My husband and I both have businesses that we run from home. If you have problems setting up your listing, there is also the option of setting up a virtual mailbox, having a PO box, or many co-working spaces offer the service where you can use their mailing addresses. Hopefully that helps.
Reply
Hey Tiffany, thanks for replying to my question. The answer was definitely helpful! Just to add on to the last question, how many businesses can I run from the same address? Of course all of the businesses would have different company names and phone numbers. Plus, I would hide the address on GMB listings since the businesses don't have a brick and mortar location.

I live about 25 miles away from the city of Toronto. How can I go about targeting that city location if I don't have a mailing address in Toronto for a GMB listing? Would I just have to rent a mailbox? And is the tactic of renting a mailbox solely for the purpose of getting a GMB listing considered grey hat?

What do I do If I want to target a town with no mailbox rental?

Thanks Tiffany, I always appreciate the help!

Thanks! I appreciate all of the blessings! I'm definitely seeing an upward incline. You can read all about it in my WA blog posts here. I try to be as transparent as possible because there's lots of false information about this industry. It's definitely my favorite business model but it takes work like any other business.

For our construction business, it took lots of time, money, and work, but for some reason, people in this industry try to sugarcoat hard work. In my opinion, hard work that's enjoyable can be very fulfilling. I hope the best for you. I seriously think you can achieve your goals with this business model (especially when you have realistic expectations). I've seen people do it.

amazing profile and great update about your efforts. Glad I checked this out more thoroughly given our exchange on your blog post about likes and dislikes. Kudos to you for trying to do so many very interesting websites, but I can see you've explained you ran out of time to do them all properly.

I wonder if you have honed down your niche from the very broad 'entrepreneurship' to something more focused? Maybe you indicated such and I missed it.

Definitely wishing you well on your efforts to make it work! cheers Marc.

To answer your question...I only work on the entrepreneurship blog now, and yes, I have narrowed my focus quite a bit. I've been following the Bootcamp route and even chosen sub-niches within internet marketing to work on.
It's still a work in progress though. You can check out my website and Youtube channel and you'll see. Thanks for stopping by.

the front-end blogging route is a great route but a long one to get paying results, is what I've learned. If I understand you correctly, your niche is now internet marketing expertise within entrepreneurship? It's not exactly clear but if I have time I'll check out your stuff.

I'm building an authority site in the long view--that's a compilation of niches. To start, I'm focusing on internet marketing.
I agree it's not quick, but I see your background is in sales.

Most sales work is making contact with people. The nice thing about blogging is the ability to leverage going out to get customers, and instead, have them self-qualify (thru keyword research or social media) to come to you. It's very powerful after it's compounded and matured a bit.

wow! Tiffany, you certainly did thin yourself out! and I can imagine
how much time and work is required to run your set up! I'm just a slow learner and I try to concentrate on digitals products in saying so I meant to promote products that have affiliate programs ..
so most of the hard work is taken out and I concentrate on buying traffic, pay to advertise on social media on thirth party web space, etc, but I still learning all of that ....
anyway, thank you for following me back have a great day!

Haha. I can overwork myself sometimes, but I'm learning. I'm much more focused today than I was before.
I wouldn't say you're a slow learner. This topic is much bigger than it looks on the outside. I don't think anyone realizes the intricacies of internet marketing until you're in it.
Your plan sounds interesting. Paid traffic can definitely speed the process of getting results, but keeping the lifetime customer value comparable between paid methods and organic methods is a challenge in the long run. At some point, the organic methods tip the scale where they bring in more ROI than their paid counterparts. Try to work on both.

Thanks so much for your compliments. To be honest, I've had quite a bit of ebbs and flows, and I started dabbling into online marketing when I was in the military somewhere like 2014-2015 timeframe.
Trying to understand this business while being in the military, having a 4-year-old and being a newlywed was hard. Plus, we were starting a new construction company. My challenges haven't always turned out pretty, but I've had some successes.
After balancing my husband's startup construction company is when I decided to be serious about online marketing. The first year was very hard because I was trying to find work time around everything else (a newborn, a homeschooled 10-year old, a husband, and other things that come up), my priorities were clashing a lot, and I had to motivate myself by changing my environment.
Now, it's a little easier because my priorities are clearer. my support system understands what I'm doing more, and has more confidence because I haven't given up and I've had results. I constantly challenge myself by recalling challenges I've had before and using my previous success to propel me forward.
Similar to the Bible's story about David and Goliath. When David saw the huge giant, he remembered a lion and a bear that he'd killed before, and he said (paraphrased), "If I could kill that lion and that bear, I can also kill this giant".
Best of wishes to you Candice!
