WP Product Review Lite

So it's been in the back of my mind for a while that I should find a way to put actually ratings on the products that I review on my site. Fortunately, I stumbled across Jay's training on Advanced Wordpress Techniques/Strategies last week and he suggested using WP Product Review Lite.

(He also offered a number of other great suggestions about optimizing your use of Wordpress, so you should definitely check out that training!)

But anyhow, after finishing the training and touching on a few other tasks that Jay recommended, I started downloaded the plugin on two of my sites. On the first site, I do mostly book reviews, and I went through all the books that I've reviewed in the past. I added ratings and performed a URL inspection for each URL in Google Search Console.

A day later, I received only an email from Google that 'product issues' were detected for one of the URLs I had edited on that site. Upon further inspection, I found that I hadn't specified that I was reviewing a 'Book' at the top of the plugin menu. After making that change, I haven't had any further issues with that site.

My other site, however, has been a different story. On that site, I review outdoor gear (backpacks, hiking boots, water filters, pants, socks, etc.). So far I have only made change to the five most recent products I reviewed on that site, but I have received 'Product Issues' notifications from Google Search Console for all five of those URLs.

Because I am using different themes for these two sites, the way that the plugin appears in the post editor is also different. Whereas I had the option with my first site to specific the 'type' of product I was reviewing, I'm not finding that option in the editor for my second site.

The two different themes I'm running are Make (for the first site that's not having issues) and Writee (for the second that is experiencing these 'product issues').

I decided to create this blog seeking advice, guidance, or assistance with this issue because I have tried live chatting about the issue and reaching out directly to the creator of the video traiinng so far without any response (albeit both of those attempts were made earlier this morning, so I may just be a little impatient here).

That being said, if you have any insights into this issue or have experienced anything like in on your sites, I'd love to know how you fixed it before I go ahead and add ratings to the remainder of the products on my site.
