5 Years?! That Flew By
Can't believe I've been working with this platform for this long. It feels like it's flown by. Then again, I've been working on a lot of other projects outside of the multiple websites I've created here.
Goal for 2023: simplify and be more disciplined with content creation.
Diversifying can be a good thing, but it can also stretch you too thin, leading to a feeling of overwhelm because you don't know what project to prioritize.
Does anyone else deal with this problem?
What are some of your strategies for simplifying your projects and holding yourself accountable?
One of my mentors told me he committed to working on his website for the first 1-2 hours of each day BEFORE he transitioned over to his freelance work or "real job."
That's how he was able to build enough momentum to eventually sell his website. In his success case, he was even retained to write for that site and given equity in the site, which he then made money on a second time when it sold again.
What success stories can you share about folks successfully earning from their sites?
Conversions are my main sticking point right now. Sure, I still need to increase traffic to my site. But it's also not converting at any consistent rate at the moment.
To any and all that are new to the platform, know that it takes time and dedication. Discipline will be key. The main reason my site has plateaud in terms of traffic and conversions is a lack of attention.
I created a healthy amount of content in the first two years. But life happened, I took on more freelance commitments, and then got a full-time remote content job. My websites have consistently been "on the back burner."
If you're going to have success, your efforts here have to be a priority. And you must have discipline to continue to put the work in. Just my two cents!
Have a great day everyone!

Congrats on five years, Tucker.
I primarily work on a single site and it does make things a lot easier!

Happy fifth year anniversary! Your two cents are worth so much: Discipline and Consistency, two core values you would need to achieve a breakthrough on the WA platform.
