Top 200 Today!

I was pleasantly surprised to log in today and see that my rank moved to 195! I have been pretty active on Wealthy Affiliate lately (even getting my first invitation to join the platform accepted!). But I have to be honest that I was still shocked to see my rank jump under the 200 mark.

I don't know how much weight being ranked in the Top 200 really holds, but it makes me feel like the efforts I've been putting in recently aren't all for naught! It also feels good that I've also seen an uptick in commissions (at least through my Amazon links) and that I've finally had time to launch my first digital course in the last couple weeks!

I keep telling myself that consistency is key and all the signs are pointing in that direction. I think it was just easy to lose sight of that when I was working full-time for another company (instead of on my own ventures). But the last few months moving into winter have given me much-needed time to reinvest in myself and my online business efforts.

It honestly makes me question why I went back to work for someone else in the first place! I think that anyone who is new to the Wealthy Affiliate platform should recognize that consistency is super-duper important to their success. And that consistency can be in whatever form makes the most sense for you RIGHT NOW!

I have definitely gotten caught in the trap of thinking I need to create two blogs a week (at minimum) and a Youtube video once a month. And because I thought I had to produce content at such a high level, when I failed to do so I would go several months in a row without creating anything new!

But I'm slowly learning (and anyone is welcome to refute this) that even posting once a month (but being consistent about it) is better than posting 8 times a month for two months and then not posting at all for the next six months because you "got too busy" or you burned out.

So I'm feeling humbled today to find my rank in the top 200 and I know that it'll require consistency to stay there. And now I know that I can make that look however I need it to look for my life right now.

I'm feeling very grateful to the WA community today and to everyone that has encouraged me to stay the course over the last two years. I feel like big things are right around the corner in 2020 and I'm really excited to be with my family for the holidays.

After all, I got into freelance writing (and now affiliate marketing) in order to have the freedom to create my own schedule so that I could spend more time with my family and make sure that I missed fewer holidays, birthdays, weddings, and other special events.

I've been following a winding path for more than six years now since first being introduced to making money online. And I'm happy to say that I wouldn't change a thing! For those of you just getting started, don't be afraid of the commitment you've made to yourself.

It might take time for you to see the fruits of your labor. But at the end of the day, you're creating something that's uniquely yours and that will give you more freedom than most jobs can afford.

I want to finish with a big thanks to Kyle, Carson, Jay at Magistudios, and everyone that has provided guidance to me throughout the time I've been part of the WA community. One of my goals for 2020 is to pay-it-forward more often and help others find success in their respective niches.
