Contact Form 7 Errors, Help Please!
I've just been notified by 2 of my readers that my contact form isn't working. I tried sending myself a message and indeed it isn't working.
I went to the contact form 7 (plugin) settings and it is saying that there is 1 configuration error, but I have no idea what it is or how to fix it.
I am hoping that someone understands this plugin more than I do and can help me out. I installed it on my site almost 2 years ago and haven't done anything with it since.

Contact form is disabled if you have removed your CAPTCHA as WA has its own protection. Then you will have to create your contact as a post instead.
Thanks. I am still using Real Simple Captcha plugin that goes with contact form 7. Still haven't been able to figure out what the configuration error is.
How do you create a contact form as a post?
Just like a new post Go to post, add new, and title it CONTACT US. Put whatever details you want in it, naturally it should have comments form below it.
So you just write, contact us on the details, or use the comments form below. We promise to respond to all enquiries.

Thanks for the info. I got it working somewhat but I'm looking at other contact form plugins right now. I would prefer people contact me via email as opposed to leaving a comment
Yes you can put your email on the Contact Us post. Using a plugin just for contact is not good enough. Plugins slow down your site, but it depends on you anyway. You can check my website to see what I mean.
Thanks but I prefer a contact form. I had a website for a business I had a few years ago and had it set up like yours and I got so much spam. I was told never to have my email out on the open like that. My site loads very quicky and I have 14 active plugins. As long as the plugins are lite and coded well they shouldn't cause your site to slow down.
Look up contact form 7 on youtube and you will get a lot of experience and help from them. I learned a lot from them.
I am totally sure that my contact form also does not work all the time. This I realized after a visitor contacted me through email. Tested myself and it sometimes works and sometimes not. I do receive some messages through it.
I think mine has been working the whole time. But over the past 7 days 2 people have contacted me via FB saying my contact form isn't working.
The only thing I could think of is that the email, the form is sending the messages to, is wrong.
You could make screenshots of the settings and we can have a closer look.
Nope, it has been working fine up until last week when I received a message via FB about the form not working. I figured it was just a glitch but then someone else informed today that the form isn't working. So I decided to look into it. That's when I noticed the configuration error message.
More specific info might help someone help you.
In the plugin settings, does it give any more specific info about what the configuration error is?
I'm sure it can be sorted out with a little trial and error.
I would try deactivating, uninstalling and re-installing that contact me plugin again. If it doesn't work, find another and try it instead.

Sometimes the WordPress upgrades make existing plugins 'not compatible' until the plugin gets upgraded to become compatible with the newer version of WordPress . Some plugins will tell you if they are compatible with the particular WordPress version.
This one is compatible as far as I know. I updated it very recently
