Will Elon Musk Improve Twitter For Marketing Purposes?
You have probably seen by now that Elon Musk bought Twitter and he has got big plans to first of all eliminate the bot problem on the site and secondly he got plans to develop it into a platform similar to "WeChat". Those that are familiar with "WeChat" would know what an awesome app it is but the app is more for the Asian market and there is no similar app as yet available to the West. Elon is about to change that, or at least that is the plan.
I am also hoping that there will be less restriction/control on reach and that we as marketers will therefore get even more exposure utilising Twitter than ever before.
I know some may have their opinions on Elon Musk and think he is a bit controversial at times, but one thing I think no one can deny is that he is certainly a genius and everything he touch turns to gold. Not sure if everyone will agree haha, but I think most people probably will.
I am a bit excited about the prospect of Elon taking over Twitter as I truly believe he will aim to make the app so much better for us all. I know some are concerned that he will have the mantra of "everything goes" in the name of freedom of speech but he already mentioned that it will of course not become a platform without any moderation at all and there will still be clear boundaries. That is at least what he said, we will have to wait and see.
How do you feel about Elon Musk taking over Twitter? Do you think it will make Twitter a better space for us as marketers for better reach? Will be interesting to hear some opinions on this.

I have never used Twitter anyway, so... it won't bother me much... but Musk is a funny dude who I do respect at certain levels, so all the best for him and what he wants to achieve by this strange acquisition....
I do love that despite his wealth, responsibilities etc. that he is such a funny and cool guy as you say. Yes I am sure it is not a joke working for him that is for sure, but yes I like his humour. Yes sometimes he can be a bit controversial, I get that, but in general a real stand up guy and genius.
Twitter may now go through a nice growth spurt! It’ll also be interesting to see if what new technologies may be introduced to make Twitter better.

I hope you're doing well. Thank you for your link, I was just about to answer your comment in my blog post. I must admit I hadn't seen your blog post, I'm glad you mentioned it.
I must admit that I have never heard of "WeChat", it sounds interesting! I'm sure that Elon Musk will do something good as he is an exceptionally clever man.
I think it's great that Elon has purchased Twitter, it would be good to have a social media platform that allows us to communicate with others in a realistic way. We all have different opinions and it's good to be over to discuss them on social media.
As for your last paragraph, I believe that it could be fantastic for people like us, Schalk! I really like the functionality of Twitter, it's far less cumbersome than Facebook and much quicker to use. Let's see what happens!

Roy, I neglected Twitter a bit and forgot about the new "spaces" area they created too. Interesting ways to use Twitter actually even before Elon took it over and gonna change it now.
But I think deep down inside I knew there was quite a number of bots on the platform and for that reason I did not really feel I was getting as much traction as I wanted.
Yes of course if I had loads and loads of followers it would have been worth it but like any social media quite hard work to build up followers.
I hope that even those with not that many followers will get a better reach now and the elimination of bots will help a lot.
But like you say the quick and easy use of Twitter is awesome and Tweets can indeed rank very well in Google too.

I agree with you, I believe that there were loads of bots on the platform, I believe that it's affected many users. We just need a social media platform that operates in a fair and reasonable way.
I have a few friends who have a terrific amount of followers on Twitter; however, things have changed a lot since the early days. Especially when you lose thousands of followers overnight for no real reason apart from the Twitter narrative!
I believe that Elon Musk must have had very good reasons for purchasing Twitter, let's hope that it helps every user!
Twitter is great for ease of use and getting your point across. It's much easier and more manageable than Facebook, let's see what happens.
