Where IDEAS come from.

I’ve been wondering lately about this.

We all know that great ideas are the foundations of great enterprises and projects.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we had a machine to create them. It would churn away day and night and then drop ideas magically into our waiting hands shimmering with the potential to change the world and bring us fortunes beyond our wildest dreams.

Of course, the machine already exists and you already own one.

It’s right there between your ears.

I believe that we all have the mental equipment to create brilliant ideas. Our creative minds are always working, forming connections, seeking solutions. If you’re like me, you’ve probably already thought of a bunch of ideas that you later saw realised by someone else who stumbled on that same nugget of inspiration.

Ideas are mysterious. You don’t come by them by thinking. They fly in through the kitchen window or bubble up out of the bath suds while you’re trying to scrub your own back. They like to hang out in nature and jump out from behind a tree while you’re walking the dog.

So, what happens to all those ideas. Mostly, they get squashed by conventional thinking. Or by our failure to recognise them. Or, perhaps most commonly, our fear of taking action.

So, I’d like to suggest that success is less about getting ideas and more about becoming the kind of person who is willing and able to put them into action.

Agree or disagree? Where do you find your ideas?

I’d love to hear your comments and, yes, ideas. :)

I agree with you. Many people have great ideas but those who go ahead and act on them are the ones that are successful.

Thanks for your comment, Erica. Acting is the important part, but it takes faith in the idea and courage to leap into the unknown.

I agree. All people have the capacity to do great things. But, sometimes there is that roadblock that is difficult to get around. That is the challenge for most everyone in one capacity or another.

I think so, too, Susan. Part of it is recognising the roadblocks that are real and the ones that we create for ourselves through our beliefs.
Thanks. I appreciate your comment. :)

Love the chimp :)

We must take action and not just thing

Thanks for the information. Regards.
