Hi family, I hope everyone had an amazing week. So I wanted to share with you something that really made me think about life and the loves in our lives.
I have a wonderful friend who is one of my best friends. He is 80 years old and very wise, and very much a spiritual man. This man is a saint in my eyes. You see he not only survived cancer, but found he had it wen his wife went blind due to diabetes He put himself second for treatment as he was determined to care for his wife first and foremost.
She wound up passing away while he still had the cancer, and went not only through a very sad time, but had to take care of himself, as his children were not there to help him through his illness. These adult children at the time were and still are very selfish and definite not caring.
I see him daily and we chat about life's journeys he has had, and the life he WISHED he had lived. He is a man who tends to look down on people who are successful, and does not understand why people have the nice things in life, or travel the world. He feels it is a waste of money and time. I constantly tell him, you cannot be negative with or about people who work hard for their success. back in his times, people pretty much lived day to day, and never thought of a bigger picture of what life could be if you went the extra mile.
He lives a very modest life, although he has a financial portfolio, we have never discussed what he has, but I am sure as frugal as he is he is doing just fine. I ask him constantly, why don't you travel, and go to ROME, as that his his dream vacation, his response is, it costs too much and I don't want to spend that kind of money.
2 days ago we were having breakfast and he shared with me that he has saved the obituary cards from MOST of the funerals he had been to , I can't remember the time frame, but I almost fell out of my chair when he told me had counted 83 funerals. .Mind you I have lived through quite a few in my lifetime just in my family and close friends, but really?? My question to him was, so what have you learned or think about after you attend another one? Do you wish you would have doe things differently, traveled more?

He said you know I am me, and I just was always satisfied with life , and never wanted to take any chances on my finances, or my family. Well, this could go on for a long time, but
this is where I am going with this.
1. Yes you always want to be prepared for life's things that come up so finances is a big thing. BUT.
2. To put your life on hold and not enjoy your life day to day, and do the things you should do before your calling, should be at the top of your bucket list.
3. Love the people around you and tell them you love them as much as you can, because we are not guaranteed tomorrow.
His mother and Father never told him they loved him, never went to see his ball games and never hugged or kissed his children when they were small. This man had no love in his life. It is so sad to me, that a person who is so gentle and caring about the people who have passed around him could care for them, and his life was so cold and sad.
4. Go after your dreams, and think big. We all have the right to want the things in life that we do not have, and guess what ? you're as good as anyone else with a dream. Make no apologies for your accomplishments, and love the people around you each and everyday.
Lastly, give thanks to god that you have a healthy body mind and soul, that you can do whatever you want to do, but always remember to love the people around you!!
Good night, and many blessings!
