Have a bad tooth ache?

So, I wanted to share with you a home remedy for any of you that might encounter what we all dread. A TERRIBLE TOOTH ACHE. I personally cannot tolerate a migrane headache, BUT a terrible tooth ache is right up there. So the other day I had a toothache, mind you, it was my upper molar, the pain was too much to bear and it was 2a.m. I called a friend of mine and told her what I had. She quickly told me to place a CLOVE on the gum and move it around. Of course I was thinking she would say OROJEL or something like that. I said WHAT? Are you crazy? A clove, you got be kidding me. Well to my amazement, IT WORKED. Today I was thinking about it and wondered what could be in a clove that would heal this crazy pain, and wondering does anyone else know this?

So I decided to look up what is in a clove what eases the pain .Well, it seems that a very long time ago dentists used cloves because they contain eugenol which is a powerful anesthetic and antiseptic that stops pain and also takes the germs away. So there you have it, for anyone who can not make it to the dentist, or you have a sudden night time pain, reach in your litchen cabinet, and place that close on your tooth. I am living proof IT REALLY WORKS!!!!

I AM INTO HOME REMEDIES, BUT I NEVER HEARD OF THIS ONE, I THANKED MY FRIEND DEARLY, AS THE PAIN WAS AWFUL.!!

Jerome

know you know what holistic means(:

Thank you for sharing Sylvia very handy tip.

Ponstan or Ibuprofen
and tramadol some time addition.

Great article! Yes and in more recent years, dentists used a zinc oxide eugenol cement to put in temporary fillings. The eugenol numbed the nerves. There is a company here locally that makes a similar compound sold to consumers for temporary fillings. I personally use clove oil for toothaches, however, you will need to dilute it with olive oil or another carrier oil. Pure strength clove oil may cause tissue damage when it comes in contact with the gum tissue. I personally add a few drops of clove oil to a half teaspoon of olive oil then apply it with a cotton swab or Q-tip.

Yes, clove is a good remedy for a toothache.

I heard about clove of garlic. Is this the one or some other clove?

Hi Jimmy. No, garlic won't work. You can get cloves in most grocery stores or purchase clove oil in health stores or online. I purchase clove oil from amazon for around $8.

Thank you. Now I've known about clove oil.

You're welcome.

Wow, great information. I hate when I have it, thanks for sharing.

That's great to know Sylvia. I have some huge dental work happening in about two weeks. Roots to be removed!! I don't have any cloves in my cupboard but they will be top of my shopping list next week!
Thanks very much for sharing your experience :)

Well thanks Sylvia for advise. I better look in kitchen to be sure I have some. Doug
