My first mutterings.

Hi, and thanks to those kind (if somewhat misguided!) souls that have chosen to follow this journey of ours (I say 'ours' as it's essentially a joint effort between my son Lewis and myself) and we hope to make it worth your while. If it works out well of course then we'll obviously take out another membership, I think that's a way off yet tho'.

We've been progressing the lessons gradually and have so far managed to find two niches, buy a .com for each of them and put some content in one - so far so good!

We've also managed to generate a bit of traffic! Only around 30 visitors in total so far but to us that's massive! Some are doubtless the result of the request for comments here on WA but we're not proud - anything will do at this stage!

A month ago I had no idea how to build a website and had barely heard of Google Analytics, I love looking at GA now, probably the traveller in me but I love seeing where in the world our visitors come from, we've had visitors from around 10 different countries!

Talking of travel, we started this in the hope of developing an income that would enable us to become 'location independent' - we've already traveled a fair bit and want to see more, hoping to do house sits so we can work at the same time easily but also stay for free!

I realise we have a good few months (if not years) hard work ahead of us but I'm convinced it'll be worth it in the end, it's amazing how much a bit of traffic on your website spurs you on.

Finally, I take my hat off to those of you treading this path on your own, particularly the single parents out there, it must be so difficult to find the time let alone the energy.
