My Journey thus far - need motivation

Hi everyone.

I have started this journey to quest for my financial freedom by blogging exactly on 1/1/2017. Seems like a good new year resolution right? Never in millions years I will ever think that I will have a website with my own domain. Let alone learning about affiliate and internet marketing. SEO? I still figuring it out. These are terms that were foreign to me once, but in a very short amount of time, WA and its amazing community taught me one thing at a time, and I am glad and grateful for all these knowledge.

I can't remember the link that brought me to the registration page of WA. I bet it is an affiliate link too, I was looking for the way to make money online at that time. So, I started with the free trials, upgraded to the $19 dollars deal, created my siterubix page, I was still skeptical at that time. I just started to test whether all of these are legit. I created my contents slowly. Brainstormed what should I write next.

Until one day, I came across the training about having my own domain. I am still thinking twice. Should I invest in that domain. Then, I remember back my goals, I want to be successful in this project, it will not be another half-way project! I created my domain and here I am with my website.

http://gotravelmalaysia.com/

A site about promoting Malaysia and aims to assist travelers that are looking to visit Malaysia with my own take on travel guide. Sometimes, I wonder why I chose this niche, it is very competitive.

I have encountered a lot of problems with my website, I changed themes several times. Made tweaking here and there, to make it look the way I imagine it to look like. It takes me a while, but I can say that I am pleased with the way of my website now.

The hardest thing for me on my 52-day journey thus far is keeping my motivation and spirit up. Until now, the organic reach is still very low, I only managed to score 12 organic view so far and none of my post has been debuted to the first page in google rank. I know and assume this whole thing will take time, but I wonder, how much time?

If any of you are reading my blog, could you please drop some feedback for my website, what can I do to improve my website? How could I attain success faster? I am willing to learn and follow diligently.

Thank You very much.
Really needed some motivation boost right now.

Best regards,
MLee

It sounds like you are doing your best! It takes time to get recognized and to get traffic to your site. I did not make any money for 6 months and now it is slowly coming in! You just keep your chin up and building your site and all will work out great for you!

You friend,

Keith

I can tell you that it will take time. How much time depends on a lot of variables. I would say...give it a minimum of a year.

But that can't be a year of posting once or twice a month. You have to post a LOT. I tend to try to post once a day.

Does this mean that I write every day? No.

I write most days, but sometimes I'll write three or four articles in a day. In fact, I've written 11 articles (roughly 16000 words) in one day.

Do I post all those articles at the same time? No.

I post one a day, I'll even schedule some to be posted in the future so I don't have to think about it, or remember.

I RARELY ever post more than one a day.

Kyle has a conservative formula:

1 post is good for about 5 clicks a day (to start). Assuming 3 posts per week you can expect about 15 clicks a day for those 3 posts.

That works out to about 450 visitors per month.

So at 3 posts per week, in a month you'll have about 12 posts. So, now you're around 1,800 visitors per month.

Take that out a year and you've got about 156 posts, which is just shy of 24,000 visitors a month.

That's a decent following. From there it builds.

Now, if you're like me you're doing more than 3 posts a week. It's a numbers game.

Once you've been doing it religiously for a couple months, writing will come easier.

Eventually you'll begin to learn what works, what gets people to visit, and what doesn't.

Once you start to gain that level, one really clever or useful post could net you 24,000 visitors in a month.

Think of it like a snowball that you've rolled down a hill.

It's going to start out small, maybe it bounces off a tree from time to time causing it to lose momentum or some of it's mass.

But...if you keep it rolling, it'll gradually grow. As Google ranks your site higher and you get natural links to your USEFUL content, your authority will increase.

At some point, so long as you continue to persist, and that is key, persistence, that snowball will become a monster and a tipping point will be reached.

At that point, you've arrived. Now people are coming to you, and you're deciding if a post that some poor schmuck just wrote is good enough for your audience. :)

If you want it, I mean REALLY want it, you'll get there.

It's not going to happen overnight, and you've GOT to be willing to put in the time, and do the work.

If your audience is primarily English speaking, make sure you're proofreading your work. It's amazing how uptight people can get over proper grammar. I know people that get fighting mad over the improper use of the words your and you're.

You need to do the training...ALL of it. It gets tiresome because after you get through the first two courses Kyle is telling you to write HUGE articles practically with every lesson.

That is NOT just to get content on your site, that's to get YOU used to writing it. You have to totally give yourself over to writing content. It has to become a habit.

You asked how much time, I say give it a year of consistently writing at LEAST 3 posts per week.

If you can't commit to that with your own domain, which you now possess, then you need to consider some other business. I don't mean to be harsh, it's simple truth.

Hell Mlee, I've probably written nearly 800 words in this comment to you. Hopefully they were words that you will benefit from. :)

Omg subnetbuzz, I just think you may be born as a natural writer (lol). Thanks a lot for sharing the formula with me, I think 3 post per week is feasible but it needs dedication for sure.

I also like your snowball analogy, after all nothing comes easy in life.

I really appreciate your words and will keep it as my food for thought.
