Is Personality Profiling Important
Bo Tipton posted a question asking us what are our colours.
I had replied with links to a few of the sites I have used with my school staff to do some personality profiling.
Several people have shown an interest in checking out their personality profiles, so I am going to share two of the popular ones that I have used over the years with my school staff.
The reason I did personality profiling in my school was to acknowledge that there are no right or wrong personalities, we are just different.
We process information and react to situations according to our personality "type". Knowing that information can be very helpful when dealing with a large number of people.
As affiliate marketers, we are appealing to a large number of people with different personalities.
Bo highlighted the fact that we should keep that in mind when we write our posts.
Make sure that you appeal to "the thinkers", "the planners", "the action-oriented people", and the "people-people".

Another good personality profiler is Carl Jung's Personality Analysis which is based on Meyer's - Briggs work.

The Meyer's Briggs profile will have us understanding the "sensing", "intuitive", "feeling" and "thinking" side of ourselves and others.
What are your four main personality indicators. I am an INFP.

Intriguing topic, this personality profiling, I am astounded that it can be used to gain an edge in your business, by getting to know your visitor's profiles, and in so doing appeal to their personality
I would think that with so many people in the world it would not be possible to narrow it down to but a few profiles,
I suppose with the correct sort of stats one could come to some conclusions.
I will certainly visit the suggested sites and learn more of this profile phenomena. Thanks for the info.

The way the personality profiling would benefit your business is by reminding you that your customers/readers might be like you, but they might be quite different.
Learning a bit about the preferences of different personalities helps us make sure we write in a manner that appeals to as many different people as possible.
Meyers-Briggs (Carl Jung) personality descriptions look at the following;
E-extrovert, I-introvert - what you focus your attention on
S-sensing, N-intuitive - the way you taken information
T-thinking, F-feeling - how you make decisions
J-judging, P-perceiving - how you deal with the world
For example, some people want to know all the details about anything that they might consider buying.
Others might want to see images before considering buying.
Others need proof and testimonies before they will consider buying.
For some people, they have to "feel" right about the product or service.
Making sure we remember that our audiences will be made up of people with different personalities, we can prepare our websites to appeal to all types.
Knowing which personality we are, helps us understand that we will normally write our blogs from our perspective and we might need to broaden our scope so as to not exclude or lose customers.

I took the test at the link you posted and got 97% blue! Is that really high? I was also 80% green and then lesser amounts of orange and gold. This does not surprise me since blue is my favorite color, followed by green! I don't like orange and gold.
I find this sort of thing fascinating. I am thinking about what my co-workers seem to be and my husband. It helps me understand them.

You know the "Men are from Mars" theory...sometimes it is just a difference in personalities.
97% blue is very high. You have to be a truly compassionate and caring person with that high a blue rating!!!!!
80% green makes you a serious thinker.

That is what I am told. It is strange though. Everyone says I am so nice and such a good friend but most of my friends drift away. I don't have many friends! I have had horrible falling outs with friends also...I think I am too nice and tolerate awful behavior in some people and keep trying to make a relationship work when I should be better at protecting myself and just saying no.
Ironically, unlike most females I know I have never been cheated on though or had a messy break up with a boyfriend/divorce etc! It seems so odd. I had only amicable break ups with boyfriends before I got together with my husband yet I have had horrible break ups with friends who suddenly act like I am horrible.
Everyone else I know has had that happen with guys and has more girlfriends than I do. I seem backwards. It is troubling sometimes since I feel absolutely jinxed in friendships!

Maybe your husband is meant to be your main friend in this lifetime.
My closest friends are family members.
I was too busy raising my children and running my schools to form close friendships with other gals.
I am okay with that.

Another book that I might recommend that explores the "sensing", "intuitive", and "thinking" side of ourselves through Neuro linguistic programming is "Frogs into Princes" by Richard Bandler and John Grinder.
