Hello, Everyone!

Wanted to share a few photos that I recently came across. Sometimes our world at large gets a bit challenging and downright sad at times. During these moments, it's sometimes nice looking at old photos just to get a little break from the present.

These four photos really stood out to me because of the work we do here. We sure have come a long way in our technology.

Enjoy!

1. Memory Storage

2. Virtual Maps

1. The Early Computer

4. An Early Zoom Lens

Have a blessed and productive day!

These excellent pics bring back memories. It was as recent as the 1970's that the punch card was an important input medium. Only the few remaining mainframes have tape drives. Also can you imagine throwing terminal screens in the air because Wall Street doesn't have ticker tape confetti any more? lol. They have to import shredded paper for a ticker tape parade!

Hi, Michael...Never knew about some of the things you mentioned. And, throwing terminal screens might be a big liability these days. =) I'm okay with progress so long as we don't get too far away from some things. Glad they found another way to have a ticker tape parade.

Have a good weekend! =)

It's nice to see how the technology is improving.
Have a good weekend!

It is amazing how fast technology changes. Hope you have a good weekend, as well! =D

Love these Susan:)

Thanks, Loes! Hope all is well. =)

Yes thanks for asking:) Wishing you terrific Easter days Susan

You, too, Loes! Have a Happy and Peaceful Easter. =)

Hahahaha... wow. Someone comes up with an idea, and others come along with ways to improve it. You can hold all of this technology now, in the palm of your hand! Thanks for sharing....

You're welcome! =)

I love these kinds of pics Susan. I started in Banking in 1979 and am amazed at how much computers have changed since then. I always say my dad, who passed in 1986, would be shocked at how you can walk down the street and talk to someone on the other side of the world on a mobile phone! Have a wonderful day :)

Yes, it's pretty amazing! Imagine what we'll see in 10 years. Hopefully a lot of good. Have a good day, too, Jude. =)

Wow interesting photo, Thanks for sharing this. Regards Sadie.

You're welcome! Hope you have a nice weekend, Sadie. =)

Hi Susan, thanks for the trip down memory lane. It makes you wonder how the future will look at today...............Marty

So true...I find it funny when people say "our modern times" today and how people said the same thing decades ago. Hope all is going well, Marty. =)

I'm old enough to remember when there were no computers in schools and lunches were a quarter. I remember having a black and white TV with rabbit ears.

I remember all those things, too, except the black and white TV. =D I also remember when gas was about 70 cents.

That is very interesting.

Yes, they're one of a kind. =) Thanks for stopping by!

Wow! Those are awesome photos Susan. May I ask you, we're these photos originally yours that you converted to digital or did you find them when they were already in digital format?

Gary

No, I found them online. On Pinterest (a lot of rare photos there). I find looking at old photos kind of like eating chips. You can't just stop at one. =D

Well they certainly are interesting and unique. Nice work Susan.
