FFFFFreezing in Chicago today
Hi there WA peeps! I live in Chicago, as many of you probabaly know it is colder that Siberia here today. I am used to the cold from living here but this cold literally hurts, not supposed to go outside today, but as an adventurer type I will stay in until later on and work on my website, then bundle up and just go out to see what Siberia feels like, then back in:) Hope all of you in this weather have a fireplace and heat today:) I love my city, but this is ridiculous. I'm not a fan of extreme hear, but am looking forward to Spring today. Have a great productive day today!

Hi Susan, I am from Canada and have experienced many cold winter just you are now. As a young person like you the winters didn't seem that bad even though it got bitter cold.
Being a truck driver I have spent some very cold winter days in Chicago, what I remember the most is the wind! Dang it blows strong in the cold days, take care and check for that wind chill, stay warm indoors.
Now I am retired and have had enough of the cold winters. We are now living in the Rio Grand Valley Texas for the winter!
Hello Susan. Overnight low in Southern Manitoba was -38c or -36.4 F with a wind chill of -46c. I am not bragging. It sucks.

Hi Susan,
I work out of Lansing and they closed the sales dept. today - which is unheard of because of the cold! This means I can work from home (rarity), answer emails from here, and work on my sites!

Yes, I am a Bartender at night and walk to work, They never close, I text my boss last night and said "are we really open tomorrow?" He said, oh, I meant to call you, we are closed. So glad, I have tons of work to do on my site. Making soup:)

Yes I heard about it Susan with that freezing cold you are having meanwhile here in Australia we have been breaking 80 year old records with the heat.
Many places have reached 49 C about 120 Fahrenheit Fortunately at the moment as I write this is has cooled down to about 26c (78F) but that was also the temp this morning at 3am so still a bit uncomfortable to sleep with the mugginess it brings.

Its 45, today, warm for us here, tomorrow back to ice and snow, what happened is not the norm:)
For here January is always the hottest month for us but this heat has not been moving over the whole country for a while and the relief we may get last for a bit then back again.
Your 45 is about 7C for us and for most of OZ that is a frisky morning normally
