Stuck in a quicksand whirlpool, HELP!

This is my second blog post on WA, and I need some help from this community.

I want to make changes in my life, I've always been scared to try new things, to put myself at risk, because I know it will only end in heartache, as it has so many times in the past.

I've tried and failed at several other online money-making opportunities, and I know I'm the problem. How do I fix me??

I want to succeed in this business, but I don't know where to start. I'm on lesson #4 of Course 1 in the "Getting started" area, and I don't understand anything I'm seeing.

I don't consider myself to be an idiot, I worked in IT at a hospital some years ago, mostly answering phones, printing reports, etc... I thought I would retire there, then they ran into money troubles and were purchased by a bigger group, and I was downsized. I'm sure it's a story that's familiar to many of you.

Ever since, my life has been mostly a mess. I make enough to get by at my current job, but that's all it is, a scrounger's existence.

I've always had a problem with poor self-image, I look at my profile picture, and all I see is an idiot that's in way over his head. The idea of putting myself in a video promoting a niche scares me to death.

I can't think of a niche idea, either. Nothing's coming to me. I enjoy working at my computer, and I play computer games, mostly World of Warcraft. I enjoy books and I'm an avid reader, mostly thrillers and suspense.

Maybe I'm just looking for some positive affirmation, or a kick in the pants. I suppose either would do. Here's hoping you all have success, I'm still looking...
