And all at once. . .

"Summer collapsed into September."

Good morning my fellow WA-ers, and happy Wednesday, September 17! I love this old-fashioned picture of a harvest moon. The caption reads: "And all at once - summer collapsed into September."

It's so true! Didn't the summer just go by in a flash?

The goal I had set for myself in the early spring was that I would be making a thousand dollars a month by fall. Isn't happening! And guess who's at fault!? Yep. It's that rascal Sugarbird and the fact that I'm so easily called away by things like FB, WA friends, email, Pinterest, funny notes from my husband, and those cute and funny pictures of animals! And RECIPES! Oh, I do love those recipes! Did I share the one for my unbelievable fresh peach cobbler? Oops. There I go again.

Thing is. . . if I keep this up I'll be saying "And all at once - 2014 collapsed into 2015." Or worse yet - "And all at once, my '60's became my '80's" Y I K E S! I canNOT and will NOT let that happen!

So I am hereby stating OUT LOUD that I am right now dusting off that old iron-clad self-discipline I used to have and GET GOING! With Wealthy Affiliate on my side there's no reason whatsoever for failure. Unless of course someone sends me a video of a new litter of English bulldogs. . . :)

I also agree that short goal will help because it is easy to loose focus since we have a lot to accomplish.

Wish you all the best.

I agree, Stopscamming! That is really good advice.

How do you know me so well? Cute ... turning that little reprimand toward yourself! Okay .... I'll try to stay focused and get some work done! M

Haha Melody! I guess I really DO know you! I think we're cut from the same cloth! ❤️ Thanks for responding.

I have the same problem Patti, staying focused on one thing, I'm easily distracted. I'll figure it out sooner or later, Hopefully sooner:)

Well if you get too distracted, let me know! I'll probably shopping on line for winter boots...

It IS hard to stay focused so a lot of times on my list of things to do, I give myself time limits. Time seems to pass more quickly as I age for some reason too. :-( ~Debbi

It is hard to stay focused, but we can do it!

:) That's one reason why I deactivated one of my FB accounts. I only go to Twitter because there no one cares what I do... hahaha... And fixed my time for an hour, max 2 here at WA. So far so good. Glad to read your experience, Patti darling. I've missed you. :)

Jenn you are so sweet! I recently deactivated a FB page too. Way too much time spent spinning my wheels, telling myself I was "working." As you said in one of your blogs... "I won't let any fear, distractions or laziness control me. Neither will you. Promise?" Yep! I promise! You are the best. ❤️❤️

Awwww.. thank you, Patti. I deactivated the other one of the personal accounts and only took with me the positive people to the other. If you have a business (you have a book to sell, don't you?), an FB page is necessary. I'll share with you how NOT to spend too much time there. Love you too.

Hear ya loud & clear, Ms. Patti!!! Steve's got it. . . . shiny thing syndrome! The brain needs to be forced to concentrate at our age. LOL

Carla, I love Steve's "shiny thing syndrome" analogy. So true! And I am most definitely going to force my brain to concentrate NOW! I refuse to let that age thing get in the way. First though ... Do you have a good recipe for French Onion Soup? HAHA! ❤️

Wish I did!

Oh, in half a year my sixties will become the seventies. And ther'es nothing I can change.

Giludi, it's so great to hear from you! I thought you had left us. Have you decided to stay? I hope so! You are a tremendous source of information and inspiration!

Even if I'm sometimes critical with some aspects of WA, i would break my heart if I would leave you alone my dear WA brothers and sisters.;=)

"Shinny thing syndrome" huh? We love ya anyways Patti :)

Oh Steve I just love your "shiny thing syndrome." Did you come up w that yourself? It's so perfect in so many applications! And yes, I have that syndrome. In fact... I think it could well be terminal if I don't get out that old hard-core self-discipline. :)

Certain personality types are prone to shinny thing syndrome. But, people with that personality type are also known for being great story tellers and they are usually the "life of the party" :)

Short Goals will work the best. Do not give into the long goals as they are harder to reach. What are you going to get done today or this morning is a short goal. The farther away things get the blurrier they are to my eyes and i cannot see getting there. Hope this helps.

Chris I have known this for so long but your reminder is timely and spot on! Short goals and baby steps are the answer, as long as they are consistent. Thank you for your comment! Great to hear from you.
