Hi. I wanted to take the time to outline and make you think of a few things when starting a new business online. Without too much talking, lets jump right in!

1. Have a clear goal of how much you want to make. (Set realistic goals. It's better to aim low and meet your goal than to set high goals and not meet them.) This will condition you to setting goals and achieving them. You can always increase your goals as time goes and as you meet your current goals, your beliefs both in the business and in your abilities to accomplish what you plan will increase.

2. Define what product you want to sell and what niche you want to work with.

3. Once you have your niche, define your target audience. What are their interests? What gender and age are you targeting?

4. Eventually when you are building your website, you will need your own domain name! I cannot stress this enough. You will have to buy your own domain! You will probably need to buy a couple of domain names to be honest.

5. Don't be afraid of new information. You will need to do your own research and study new material that you probably won't find it here. Please don't fall into the trap of watching the videos and not taking action, or believing that after watching the videos you will make $10,000 a month. That's probably not going to happen unless you already have experience with online business/marketing. However, if you take this advice, and keep on researching new information constantly, you will be alright. Take the information you will learn in Wealthy Affiliate and then go out and research for the things you don't have the answer to. There is a lot, a lot to learn about online business that nobody is going to teach you. Why? Because it makes people a lot of money and its really easy to replicate. Thats why. If you signed up with up, don't worry, I'll be coaching you from day 1! For everyone else, the best advice I can give you is to ask the people who signed u up to actually teach you how THEY are doing their business online. Ultimately, you should make your business unique to you. There are 100 different strategies to do the same thing. Some of them work better than others. Some of them work better for some people than they do for others. In this business, its all about finding what works for you. So yes, expect to make mistakes and waste some money in the learning process. (I still put money in the wrong places and I've been doing it for 12 years!). Thats something new people usually don't understand. We all put money in the wrong places and lose it. That doesn't mean the business doesn't work or that its a scam. Just like any other business, you may invest in places that do not give the expected ROI (return on investment). Take these episodes as a learning process. Honestly, you wont succeed without making mistakes or spending money. If you don't invest some money and do your own research, quit the business, because you won't really succeed. And if you do succeed, you will be the lucky 1 out of 1,000 who does. Would you really want to put your money in something to figure out if you will be the lucky one? Probably not. So the best way is to prepare yourself to become a legitimate business owner.

Which means:

1. Plan your time. (when will you study WA? When will you research new information? When will you build the websites? When will you market the websites? When will you network?)

2. How much money a month can you afford to invest in your business?

3. How long are you planning on investing and studying the business until you give up? (Realistically, the answer should be never. Because anyone can succeed in this business. But at least give yourself 3-4 months. Although I still think 3-4 months is nothing. You will probably profit within the first 2 months, but you should give yourself time in order to build a strong business.

4. Find a mentor! Find someone to work with you and help you! This is probably one of the hardest things to find. But there are a lot of people out there who could help you. Wealthy Affiliate has a rich community of great people. Maybe you can reach out to someone here and build a strong relationship with them. (Usually the person that signed you up is a good starting place, since that person has 100% interest in helping you build a profitable business.)

If your upline doesn't have the knowledge or time to help you, I'd recommend finding someone else. Personally, I wouldn't join the business under someone who doesnt have enough knowledge to help me or someone who is "helping" with vague information that doesn't actually get results done. If you have the financial means, you can always find coaches for everything with a couple of Google searches. If you reach out to any consulting/coaching just make sure they are legit and everything checks out.

*Disclaimer - Im not saying that you MUST find a mentor outside of wealthy affiliate. What I am saying is that you need to know more than what is being taught here to guarantee your success in online business, and reaching out for a mentor or a coach is one of the resources you can have to aid your business and help you avoid mistakes. Think for a second. When was the last time you took a class and learned everything you needed on the subject? Probably never. And thats normal. Theres no way that one place can teach you everything you need to know.

Last words - I hope this helps some people who are starting out. My intention is not to discourage anyone, because truth is, this business is easy if you put in the time. However, I know a lot of people get lost starting out and soon they lose their motivation and money. This doesn't have to happen to you! Im not a robot, Im actually typing this instead of working on my other sites like www.successulnetworkmarketing.net and the reason for that is because I know a lot of good people out there want to make money online and sometimes it feels like everyone else can do it but we cant. I used to be that person. I always made some sort of money from affiliate marketing or mlm, but it wasn't until a few years ago that I actually learned a couple of things that were holding me back from making the kind of money "success stories" used to talk about. Stay motivated! Keep learning and keep on talking to people. Make friends, enjoy the learning process and build your business. If you are serious about make money online, this is one of the best places. Seriously, I wouldn't recommend going anywhere else (except may be this one place... :P ) but seriously, you found the place that will enable you to make the kind of money you probably want.
