Red Flagged: WA Black Friday Membership

TGIF Everyone,

Just my luck, I missed my chance to upgrade to a yearly membership here at the wealthy affiliate. Not for the lack of trying.


When I first tried to upgrade (black friday), the system stated that the merchant can't accept payment from this customer. (or something like that) I figured being that I used my credit card for the monthly upgrade the system rejected my debit card thinking I was a fraud. I figured when I get the chance being that I was at work, I would just change my payment info within WA to my debit card and upgrade then.


Until...


My son called me and said he couldn't withdraw money from my account due to account status and to contact the bank for more information. To make a long story short, when I tried to upgrade my membership at WA the bank shutdown my account because they thought someone other than me was trying to make a fraudulent transaction against my account. One would think they would atleast try and call the account holder to ask them if they were trying to make a transaction.


Now, I have to wait 7-10 business days for a new card. Lol. The discount is over and I will have to pay regular price. Wealthy Affiliate is definitely worth the price and then some, so I have no problem paying.


It just sucks that I missed out.


If I was purchasing something let's say in Costa Rica then I would understand them shutting down and not letting the transaction through. I still say I should have gotten a phone call.

I won't bother him. I just have to wait and let the bank know before I purchase the upgrade so it won't happen again. Thanks anyway.. I appreciate your feedback.

Hello success15, my husband has had this happen a few times. The bank actually told him that he should call them when he is going to make a purchase in another state or online for a company that is out of state. He told them what you were saying. He said, "no its my money I should be able to use it when I want, if you think that it may be a fraudulent transaction call to verify. Don't just cut off my access to my money". I think that it is crazy how they do that. Anyways, congrats on going premium.

Thanks for responding. It is crazy. I do appreciate the service they provide in protecting my funds but geesh a phone call would be nice first. lol. Enjoy your weekend!
