Hello WA community - please accept my first ever WA blog in the Blogosphere
Hello all!
Following on from Kyle’s wonderful training, I am now on lesson 10 in level 2, which is the last of the lessons in the second module.
Time to have a mini celebration.
Ok thats done, now on with it.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this training to date, as I can relate to what Kyle has shared with us, and by doing what he suggests I am finding that the repetition builds good technical habits and skills.
One of the key things I’ve taken away from this is the criticality of blogging on a regular basis, and having good search engine optimization.
Presently I have suspended my search engine optimisation as I have work yet to do on the site, before I wanted to be published and to go live.
To finish that which I am working on within relates to protecting one’s (nuclear) family, given that it came before the church or the state, and is under threat like never before from various influences and sources.
The site that I have after that one, the main already registered, relates to hyperbaric oxygen therapy and its life saving and therapeutic uses in medicine.
I am pleased to have got this far, but can only really attributed that to the quality of the training and just showing up, and ticking off the boxes as I go, a kind of WordPress bucket list.
Most of my successes have come from pure persistence, coupled with asking the right questions of the right people, who are empathetic to my cause.
In terms of general successes that I am proud of, this would include:
- being the father of three daughters (this can be tough at times, any fathers of teenage daughters will probably know what I mean)
- being married for 26 years (my wife is very understanding)
- holding pilots licenses in two countries (fixed wing single) and instructing
- having won various information technology related awards
- My experience has shown me that a good small team working in functional or semi dysfunctional harmony does so much better than a single person can ever do. After all we are actually human, and sometimes I need to remind myself of this.
- The most significant victory of all, legally rescuing my family from kidnap by a state that had a database error and a false report combined, that saw me lose the family for an entirety of 11 months without a warrant, evidence, or a valid application to the court, ex parte (I was on the other side of the country when it happened – punishment without crime) without so much as an apology from a state that features in a number of movies on the subject, such as 'Rabbit proof fence', and 'Oranges and sunshine. People need to know about this stuff before they are next.
Certainly wasn’t our day when that trip wire was tripped, but what was the famous phrase in the Forrest Gump movie?
Part of my site deals with avoiding it and dealing with it.
Otherwise wasn’t for my current health due to the uncessary, protracted and distressing court battle above (first in my life), I’d rather be flying aeroplanes again which is my other true love.
The experience and freedom is amazing, as are the disciplines learnt.
Could be a good book in of itself.
Diving was an unpaid hobby of mine for years, but I have not dived lately. I miss it.
In the meantime I have been studying law part time at therate my mind and body will allow, and find the legal system has over time really developed into a bloated, expensive and inconsistent system.
Case law or precedent is good, but only if people are aware of it and actually abide by the judgments.
Evidence is sometimes ignored or disallowed, and many prosecutions have not been decided on merit or quantum (think pain scale).
The system appears to have strayed from its core legal concepts, (think old and common law precedent) and become more administrative than substantive in nature.
I am a nerd, and love science, technology, aviation, and medicine, and even find law to be interesting at times as it may consider these subjects in specific cases.
Objective stuff! I don’t like politics, do not vote and am not partisan. The system appears faulty and identity politics is not working. I am trying to work around it, setting it to bypass.
Not usually the life or the party, although I have been laughed at a party - does that count?
My plans and goals for the next three months include continuing with the training, monetising my first website by way of affiliate links, sending my trusted friends affiliate links to wealthy affiliate in order for them to learn WordPress, and to have my blog posts and website professionally proofread, so I can stand punching while someone else is doing the blocking.
Plans and goals for next six months include a review of any commissions that are coming in from a website, and reviewing my SEO and Google analytics feedback and make necessary adjustments, with a view to increasing my visibility and traffic.
As I am an aviate, navigate and communicate kind of guy dealing with some other issues in the background so I may not be communicating as often as some but I will do my best based on my personal circumstances.
If you think I can help please reach out to me, just remember I am just a wordpress novice, but will help if I can. I struggle at times to shift gear from fifth to second.
As I am a bit camera shy I have not uploaded an image to date, this may be something I do at a later time.
My opinion of myself belong in the back room or the cockpit, and am certainly no social media influencer :-).
Finally my reason for using wordpress with its own domain is trying to revisit website creation in 2021 and making my time count, actually helping more people by platforming my knowledge and that of my small team.
Lastly I appreciate that we all have the shoulders of giants we can stand on.
This course has actually encouraged me to write, as has one other person in my life.
I hope I can do the community proud, there are some amazing and very encouraging people here.
Best wishes to all,
Brook
PS: A bit more of my autopathology for those who wish to read on: When I need downtime (quite a bit) I love to explore nature, it just feels right. I just have to.
I find I learn so much from nature and animal life, even though I am no David Attenborough.
My sense of humour is very dark and apparently some even say funny, when you have seen down the mineshaft I have, any day above earth is one can be entertaining.
Humour can go a long way these days, we are all on this earthship together.
Any combat vets in here (who have been on tour and seen and done stuff they dont pubish at prime time) will likely relate well.
If I'm conscious and connected I will respond.
Reach out if you are having a rare day.
It's most days at this end. I just have to keep stepping out of the way.
Its nice to see someone smile, and music pets and friends are great. Coronavirus is not.

To your continue success.

Thank you Elizabeth, appreciate that. Let's see how the monetisation part works next, that should be interesting.
Thanks @Newme202 and @JeffreyBrown.
@Newme202 appreciate that, one goes out on a limb on the Internet these days ;-), but hey at least its hosted with AWS :-) (told everyone I had dark humour).
But seriously, thank you, and thank you for the encouragement with the success. I have some pretty cool toys in the toy box I would like to share with others.
@Jeffrey Brown thanks Jeff, yes I even scare myself at times. Pressing post on that blog was one such time. Time to pull off some more blog roll....

Congrats on getting your first W.A. community blog friend. You have a lot of "titles" on your belt as I read along. I think this could be a niche on your website if you choose to have it. It is interesting to learn about one's life experiences. I'm sure people can relate. Thanks for sharing. All the best!
Thank you Brightsales, I appreciate that.
In practical terms a pilot is only as good as their last takeoff or landing, a fighter only as good as their last fight, a web author as good as their last blog, lawyer as their last court orders favourable to their client (the titles can stay in the filing cabinet, where they rightfully belong but its true, my head does hurt - this was no 'catch me if you can').
One reason I respect old pilots a lot if on the line for years is they actually made it to old age so they must have been doing something right to exist in that hostile environment for so long and still be with us (acknowledging approximately 70% pilot error and 30% mechanical malfunction as an acknowledged ratio in aircraft hull loses).
But I do have some applied science in those areas which by all accounts worked, so will try to focus on that aspect of my experience and good point regarding those subjects.
To me the only opinions that matter are the effective ones (or lessons learnt from failure so as to invert) but I usually start with the end result and work back in my mind, and this has got me writing about these experiences.
Thanks for the interest and thoughts on relating, it does affect us all in terms of the actual human experience.
The way I see it is that if I can keep people more comfortably and distress free then it will have served it purpose like a meteorological forecast and lowest safe altitudes in aviation.
The other side of positive thinking to encourage one to live long enough to have the luxury of positive thinking ;-)
You are welcome on the sharing front, I will try and see what value I can add in future blogs if I have the capacity to do so.
One thing is for sure, I can presently fog a mirror, or a word press site (now thanks to Kyle, Carson and the WA team ;-)
Brook
Very well then friend. I think you might want to create that website niche where you can help people. Just a suggestion. All the best!
Thank you Brightsales, I really appreciate your suggestion and will take it seriously as I continue to build the site. Hope you go well too in your area!
