Talk About Over Thinking!

Well I have finally managed to get some content on one of my first 3 pages. Talk about over thinking things :-)

I just couldn't get started, a familiar problem I know. I wasn't quite stuck in the " it has got to be perfect" mindset but not far off.

What if nobody reads it? Will it be interesting enough? Etc,etc, etc?

For the time being I have little control over what any readers may think of it.

Until I actually get some content written down nobody will even have the chance to read my stuff and supply feedback, good or bad.

Thankfully a blog here yesterday from AlanP1 finally gave me the kick in the pants I needed. So thank you AlanP1.

Make a start, get something written down and publish. I know my subject, or at least enough to get started and I can always polish and adapt it later if required.

Anyway, it has been completed now and I can move on.

Congrats. I've totally been there. I've actually found that having a hard deadline helps force me to write something. It becomes less of matter of how good is this and more a matter of I need to put something up. Don't get me wrong, I always put the effort in to up quality work and not putting up anything at all is better than putting up something that is absolutely wretched. But having the deadline helps get me past the this isn't quite perfect yet feeling. I'm willing to trade the "perfect" feeling for the "mission accomplished" feeling. Just my personal mental game.

I totally agree. I would never create any content I wasn't happy with having my name against. If you know your subject, as you should then it starts to flow once you release the shackles and make that start.
