I am stuck on the "Add adsense" point for the online certification because my site keeps giving me this message
"Sorry we were unable to save your configuration. The reques

You do not need any plugin to add Google Adsense, this is just a code which you copy and paste into widget.

Please do not respond to me because I cannot receive such notifications due to email problem.

Why can't I put adsense on my site?

I have seen several people here on WA talk about how they have a few sites hosted here and one or two hosted elsewhere. I am just wondering, what are the benefits to doing so?

Seems WA does not host WP multisite, so you may need (rarely) to host a site elsewhere if you want the multisite option...

@bbhugloo What's a multisite?

A lot of that decision will come down to personal history.

In my case I had sites elsewhere before i joined WA. Moving a site is a risk not worth taking, so they stay where they are. In addition I am familiar with the hosting package, so I don't need to learn a new one.

For someone new to WA, who does not already have sites elsewhere, the arguments are completely different. For them it is simpler and cheaper to build here, plus the security levels are higher, and there is no cost for support if/when things go wrong.

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate the input!

Hi Chris,
Hosting more than one wp site on a single wordpress install. Completely different sites can be set up in subdirectories or subdomains making up a network of sites. You can build a very complex site like this. Going further you can also have multiple networks using one wp install.

An example of a very complex site that uses multiple networks is that of the University of Mary Washington - all on wordpress. You can have a look here http://www.umw.edu/. Taking wordpress to another level!

Or you can also create a site like wordpress.com where you can host other peoples blogs within a network.

Yeah, I've just been having a read up about it.

Part of me twitched when the words "http://WordPress.com" came up, because I know that to be a "flaky clone" of http://WordPress.org (though some might disagree with that assessment), but then I realised that they are simply a user of multi-site along with the party you mentioned.

At the moment I don't see the difference, at my level of usage, between that and having a number of sub-domains. I welcome any challenge to that impression.

Does WA facilitate sub-domains? To be honest, I have no idea. That's another thing I need to research at some point in time. My main sites are hosted elsewhere, and I do have sub-domains there.

I ran "sub-domain" through the WA search bar and found plenty of stuff, including this one - (I suspected that Marion would have an input) .

PS: Somehow this discussion has become attached to a different thread. Maybe you could copy/paste your earlier comment back to where it should be, then I'll do the same with this response.

Thanks Chris for the link. This is really helpful. I will look into this video.

If you are a premium member of WA, you can host an unlimited number of domains for which you own at no additional charge. So to me it makes sense to host websites here at WA.

I do have a couple websites I designed long before I discovered WA and I left them there because I am not paying for the hosting. My client whom I designed the website for pays the annual hosting.

But for any new websites and new domains you purchase after joining WA, I cannot see a reason why you would pay extra to host elsewhere when your membership includes unlimited domain hosting.

Oh. Okay Alan. Thank you for letting me know. I did not know that had been changed recently. :)

That is great. Thank you again. Yes, I was just going off of what the training had said. :) I appreciate you letting me know.

I put up a new post on my blog 4 days ago and did the SEO stuff that is suggested. I checked it the next day with a direct quote search and found it page 1, and page 5 on google w

There is a thing that we call the Google dance. Often posts will start out strong, then disappear for a while. Keep writing additional content on your site, if you show Google that you're serious, your rankings will improve overall on your site. It's entirely possible that once your post comes back, it will be even stronger than before.

Thank you Labman. Still new to all this so I have never seen the "dance" before
